Is it possible to fit 185/60/R14 tyres on a first generation Myvi 1.3 rims? If it is possible, then are there any drawbacks or problems since the original tyre size is 175/65/R14. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, you can fit 185/60R14 in place of 175/65R14. Wider tyres for traction, 60 series aspect ratio for better handling without too much compromise on comfort. Many of my friends have already changed to this 185 size. Overall is about 1% smaller only.
Thanks. The Myvi that I am referring too is currently on 175/65 Goodyear NCT5. I thought of suggesting to change to 185/60 Viking tyres like the one I used before since they are cheaper than NCT5.

Sell yours to the Myvi then you can get the something else.....hhahahhahah![]()

I did suggest swapping mine to Myvi and I get something else. But family told me back how about the workmanship costs.![]()

When u sell yours to the Myvi owner, get him go to those shops that sell 2nd hand rims then go there do swapping.
He pay his own labour/workmanship and you choose your rims usually include install one...

He not changing rims, but tyres only, and if not mistaken, sell to family member......hahhahahaha![]()

All my myvis were eventually changed to 185/60/14. 2 tyres at a time. Meaning earlier front were 175/65 and back was 180/60 until the front were changed out.
In terms of driving you don't feel any difference. 185/60/14 sizes are more readily available compared to 175/65/14.

Family member then can sell higher![]()

Well, then have to use until you start work then you can pay for what you want.....![]()

Better in handling for 185/60 over 175/65, and 175/65 also have tyres available, but probably less choices only, but then people who will use 175/65 are not that choosy......hahhahahhaha

Yup, that is why we aim to charge you for DIY already, because you are family.......hhahahhahahahahhaha![]()
I think you're right. Most 14 inch rims that I've seen are using 185 size instead of 175. But if I am not mistaken, last time there is 195/55 for 14 inch. Not sure why it isn't offered anymore now.
If change back to 175/65 NCT5 will cost more than 185/60 vikings isn't it?

Yup, I use before 195/55R14, and that is a long time ago. Now no more, probably no market and expensive to bring in.
175/65R14 got many other choice also. No need NCT5 mah!![]()
Get GT radial if dont have achilles haha
Din't spot any achilles. GT Radial is good?
But I'm not sure got what other good ones for 175/65. I'm sure my family will send that Myvi to the same shop where I get the vikings. Over there, I only remember that they have vikings, goodyear nct5 & duraplus, continental, GT radial... That's all. My vikings I got for 140 a piece. Seems reasonable.

Tyre sifu using wor..u say leh haha! Duraplus is just economy tyre...daily normal use okay geh.
