How long of a drive does it take before auto transmission fluid inside the torque converter is mixed up with the fresh oil in the pan for another drain/refill to replace the oil fluid? Will idling for a few minutes or a short 5 minute drive do?

Seen some do for a while only then drain already, but they kept shifting the gear throughout.
If you need to flush the atf, you can also look for the workshops that can hook on a machine and they pump new fluid in and at the same time the old fluid comes out the other end. Thereafter when new clean fluid start coming out from the out end then it is complete.....

flush using machine is still the best method...

but it will consume a lot of ATF... usually 9-11 liter

Yup, one way in one way out. The mix method just keep diluting only.
Even though 11 to 12 liters needed, if pan drop change 3 times also almost that amount of atf already
