Different between 4g63 and 4g63 RVR

Doing power transplant a lot of follow up cost.
Engine (half cut)
Installation
Suspension
Exhaust
Brakes (if half cut comes with good brakes that can transplant over plug and play that will save you quite a lot)
Like mine 16 years ago, even though I got the half cut at 3.5k only, after installation and the mods listed ended up around 8k plus....:driver:

so is it better i buy one car complete with the engine?

If just engine alone without any other parts like gearbox, wiring, maybe it is possible to get a 4G92 MIVEC.

But if you want a complete transplant with everything else, 6.5k is not possible to get 4G92 MIVEC or any other turbo engine except the old 4G61T.

i think these day want kautim all the thing already need 10k..:bawling:

As I mentioned cannot find the drive shaft so even if bought GB cannot use.......lol:biggrin:

Too bad... If that is the case, that means even for those owners of original Evolution I,II,III will also have difficulties if their drive shaft broke down....

Today, probably need around 20k to be safe. Not forgetting that wear and tear parts like timing belt, engine oil, oil filter, oil seals and other rubber hoses may need replacement due to the old age of halfcut.... Better tyres and wheels is probably needed too...

Hmm, for such low price, do expect the car to come with some hidden problems. One problem with buying used modified cars is that you are not sure what parts did the previous owner bought and replaced on the car. Whether did the owner bought a cheap imitation part or original part, you may never know unless you know the owner well enough for him to tell you the truth. Eventually you will need few thousand RM ready at hand to replace or fix anything inside these cars.

Need more than 10k if you want everything to go smoothly without small problems.

budget RM5k can't get 93 dohc. nowadays 93 dohc complete with wiring, gearbox and driveshaft cost around RM6k including transplant but just for the swap only with new engine oil and timing belt. Some shop charge RM7k for the engine complete with transplant. I dont know if ts wanna mod his engine or not.

Best is just to find a 4g92p sohc engine complete with gearbox and wiring. That would cost around RM3.5k-RM4.5k. In the future can upgrade to DOHC using 91 head port match. Or just get a 4g91 DOHC. Old engine and same CC but at least more power than your current 1.5 and can still mod to your desired HP.

Agreed. He can even consider going for 4G92 MIVEC head in future since he is interested in MIVEC. Other than more power, fuel efficiency should also be better than his carburetor 4G15.

That is why if want to budget low, keep to normal NA engine, then need not mod brakes, suspension exhaust etc., and will cost much less. Engine cost also less......

i see a lot of people recommend mivec for him but his budget is RM5k.. :driver:

Those people all power mod mah!......hhahhahaha

For me, in tyre forum also, check what their priorities then only recommend. No point people want comfort and quiet go recommend UHP tyres......lol:biggrin:

budget 5k.... might as well save up somore or just go with a simple bot....

selling of his current car and buying an already modified car comes with its own set of potential issues...
when i was looking for a car, alot of these modified cars were abused (especially the cheaper ones). You dont really know if there are any issues on the first go, some issues would only be known 1-2 months after owning and driving the car...

4G91 is a good platform to start with. Once a 4G91 owner here hehe...pair it with manual gearbox and its pretty fast with basic mods like intake and exhaust. just my 2cents

I did told him to get 4G91 DOHC first for now so that in future when he has saved up more money, he can just straight away change into MIVEC head. At least not straight away spending money at one go for a 4G92 MIVEC.

Perhaps his 4G15 is already dying and he needs a new engine soon?

4G91 should have enough potential. Even the old 4G15 can be made fast. 4G91 sure can be better.

With 6.5k ts's option are only, do up the 4G15, 4G91 or 4G92 SOHC in my opinion. Don't expect to transplant the engine and it'll run perfectly. Wear & tear parts, all the fluid, he might even need new gb/driveshaft.:burnout:

It is decent enough for me if im on limited budget, in a satria body can follow vios dugong god car easily

Vios is nothing fast if they are using auto gearbox. I'm using 4G15 myself and some of my friends who are used to drive automatics thought my car is fast. I think it is a matter of perception.

Well for a engine that old i think its pretty fast without VVTI sort of tech. It feels pretty fast to me tho

I meant the 4g91 *

Pure mechanical glory. To be honest, the output of 4G91 is even higher than newer engines like 1NZ-FE in Vios or the HR15DE in Amera.

But these newer engine's low end torque, ie acceleration from stand still is definitely better as they have VVTI to help out..:driver: also 4G91 you have to rev to have power, cant feel much oomph below 3k rpm
