Nissan Latio Hatchback 1.6 (A) (2008 - 2010) RM26k - 32k
Suzuki Swift 1.5 (A) (2008-2012) RM28k - 35k

Planning to use for long term. Which one is more reliable & durable? Both car are almost 10 years.

I'll go for Swift if it is me. I see a lot of Swift on the road compared to very few Latio. Swift is also known to have good handling.

latio is very reliable and more spacious...........
note that you can easily get the impul versions or 1.8 sedan for this kind of money

swift is a decent car, but all in all has less features compared to the latio

maintanance figures would be give or take around the same for both cars

Latio ftw! i have close friends who own both the models you listed and i've been lucky to be trusted as the driver in several occasions during our road trips. Swift is by all means a fun and nice car to drive but one thing it falls short on - passenger space. and the rear windows are a little too claustrophobic to my liking (as passenger), still a decent car and potential for mods too! IMO nonetheless.

Latio on the other hand, i can really enjoy the ride being the driver or the passenger. spacious interior and it surely cruises comfortably on the north-south highway. very practical car! haven't heard complaints from my friends about finding parts for both Nissan and Suzuki though, so that shouldn't be a problem for your options.

Thanks everyone for d feedback. I'm looking for hatchback, so sedan is out of my range of choice.

If you are 50/50 on them, I would test drive both and see which I prefer driving, then get that......

agree, test drive first loh.
since you plan to use for long term. depreciation / cold door not affecting your decision dy.

Neither

C-segment. Plenty of parts compared to BOTH the cars you shortlisted.

Oh, and the car is younger by 3 years, AND cheaper. Oh did I mention its a C-segment?

But TS said he wanted a hatchback. FC and maintenance cost for Inspira could be a bit higher than Swift and Latio.

But if it is for myself, I'll go and search for a Inspira 1.8 manual.

Based on my experience with the Livina, Latio which uses the same engine might not be so reliable also. For my Livina 1.6, I just had the coil on plug changed even though the car only has less than 55k km on it! It just suddenly misfired a little bit on idle, then when we got it checked, 2 coil on plugs already spoiled. For God's sake, car with only so little mileage already has spoiled coil on plugs, the first time I ever experience this and it's on my youngest car! To make matter worse I knew already that in order to replace them, you need to take out the intake plenum due to the stupid design, hence the cost is not that cheap also and better to replace all 4 instead of just 2 (coz if you just replace 2 then alter the others got spoiled again then you need to waste money again to open the intake!). Before this, after a few months ownership the aircon coil leaked but still under warranty, so FOC but still annoying. So yeah based on my limited experience, Toyota, Honda, and maybe even Mitsubishi and I think Suzuki too > Nissan in terms of reliability!

Maybe, but i din face any problem yet, drive for 75k km, livina x-gear. Cross my finger.
Their airbag need to replace too. Pls check online.
my first battery last for 1 half year. SC guy told i lucky, most first battery last 1/2 yrs.

Oh! even the other engines models the same, because Nissan Sylphy owner already complain on this plug change intake manifold must remove thing....:stupid:

I already own an Inspira 2.0 (A) 2011, so this car is also out of my choice. I don't want to have 2 Inspira at home..:rofl::rofl:
I read that Latio is quite good & comfortable car even though the spoiler is really ugly to me, rarely heard owner complaining bout their car. Swift design look nicer compared to Latio but the size is a bit small.

Oh ya, I already got the airbag recall letter but that letter said parts still out of stock so they will notify again later! :banghead:

Battery is quite lasting though on my Livina. First battery last like almost 3 years I think, then now already 2 years.

Then get the SSS

Sort of like he is favoring the Latio more.

Latio, i like d space & comfort even though the spoiler is f****king ugly. Swift, everything is okay except space. I just don't know which 'almost 10 years old car' is better. I don't want to be a regular workshop visitor after getting d car. kinda 60/40 for now :confused::confused:
