Hi SifuSifu,
I wanted to change to adjustable as I've been using sport springs and now I want to take it to the next level. But I'm not sure which coilovers to go for. As I've been told BC Racing have better quality and built compared to Gab SS.
Even though with the better build and quality. People still recommend the GAB SS cause the after sales service is much easier and faster compared to BC Racing.
And I also want to know which coilovers is better in terms of performance, ride comfort and handling between this two.
Much help is appreciated ☺️
If you ask for the best performance, handling & comfort, without going the electronic damper & magnetic suspension route, 1st place = Koni FSD, 2nd = TEIN. TEIN is famous for making high quality comfy suspension with great handling.
Since you're talking bout Myvi, Koni & FSD aren't available, mostly cuz most Myvi's buyers want cheaper parts like BC Racing, Ftuned, & GAB, & the lack of technology (That exists in better brands) translate into more sportiness at the price of comfort.
(Yes, I said BC Racing's cheaper cuz at the same budget, you can get TEIN EnduraPro PLUS, which is an adjustable shock instead of adjustable coilover, but with better techonological features.)
TEIN has a custom suspension program, but that's expensive cuz of lack of economies of scale/minimum quantity order. A good compromise for your case is KYB RS Pro (RM1K+). Sadly when I called KYB & wanted to buy for my Myvi Icon, they don't make it anymore, probably cuz they've lost to the higher adjustability that other brands offer.
Myvi buyers are either willing to pay much less for outdated OEM tech, or more for adjustability just for the sake of it & tight fitment (slammed ride height). Hence the saying that adjustables aren't comfy, which is true in the Myvi context.
Unless, market demand changes & buyers no longer value those things, but prioritize comfort & handling & don't mind paying more. Cuz no point in higher adjustability if the softest setting is still rock hard & lack luxury refinement, or have quality issues like durability & corrossion resistance etc. All those need tech.
