Is it wise for me to buy these second hand cars?

Other car make, follow the %, only Proton special case......lol
Not so smart ruling eh...
Wira 1.8 cant go for 2.0.
Means my Waja oso cant go 2.0.

Another example where it become not so smart is on the old Merc W124, this car had variety of engine from 2.0, 2.2, 2.6, 3.0 up to 5.0 V8. Merc surely did the eg job but JPJ think its not up to mark?

I dont think they care, they just want easy job, so they made a one size fits all rule. Typical of 3rd world countries.

I assume the ruling was made cause the chassis weren't suited to handle the power dished out by the 4G63T. And those Mitsubishi engines were really common and cheap, coming from VR4, and Evos of various generations.

I wonder when they will start banning Kelisa and the loaf of bread with engines exceeding 1L.

Just wanna update for no reason to see how many ppl that came to this thread still active HAHAHA.

So um since this post is 2019 which is kinda round 5 years ago, and life has changed alot.
I've finally bought my first car (back in 2023 august) and funny enough.. I never expected to buy this.

Its a Satria 1.6 mivec manual!
afaik, owner said whole halfcut was bought to do the swap into this car (gearbox mivec+engine+wiring+dashboard)

After a year of ownership, I now daily drive this car to work. I have already done alot of maintenance/repairs (pain) on this car. It has been more than a year driving manual and I have to say it was a fun experience. Went to touge only a few times but drive very slow like normal traffic cuz i just wanted to admire the road and the drive, no balls to drive hard. Reading back my old posts, I can see that now I really love driving my car and to get around (but I hate jam of course), as opposed to the older me 5 years ago.

fun fact. a few months after owning this car. I noticed there is a sticker mark that looks like ZTH logo (sorry its abit hard to take it clearly). so maybe this could have been ZTH member car before? idk as in previous owner i bought from isn't ZTH member and he bought the car from his friend haha. Cheers~

Congrats on your first car purchase. I have been driving manual all my life, my VR for 24 years already.....:driver::burnout:
