Heyo.. I'm a proud owner of the new Honda Civic 2.0. Want I want to do is to learn more about the car... outside the manual. So if any of you guys can give me pointers and tips of what I can do with the car, I'm all ears. Merry Cheers! :_:

You can do many thinghs many cars.

You should point out what you wish to do and from that point many could show you how to do it.

i'd rather if you guys are able to give me a list of what i CAN do with the car. That would be a move convenient idea cos i'm really trying to learn more about cars, on the overall... need good menthoring regarding how a car functions, what a car has... and how a car works.... ^^:X-:

Lesson one..
A car has four wheels? He he... :P (unless you mod it of course.. )
A car has a steering wheel?

Okay, I'm just kidding.

Well, you yourself know the scope of it, so why ask a general question? You should be more specific.

Your Civic 2.0 is a crippled K20A. The powerful version of the K20 engine is in the DC5. That's why you get measly 155hp compared to the one in the DC5 at 200hp (more or less).

You can add intake and exhaust upgrades for power, some suspension to reduce body roll, and some rims and bodykit for bling.

That's where you might need to reseach, as in what kind of part do you need, or not need.

Or you could just keep it stock, and drive it as it is. One thing I can tell you to avoid is audio installs, esp in a shop where they say they can do it within one hour or so.

The newer systems all have integrated wiring harnesses, and some not so reputable audio shops will make a mess of your wires.

Well, if you ever suffered electrical gremlins in a NEW car, you'd know why I totally AVOID accessory shops.

Yeah.. I'll help take out the K20A and put in your CRX hatch.. hehehe...

whoa man... don't have to be so discouraging akuma. i'm sure even you had to start somewhere. just hoping to learn as much as i can... thats all... :(

well spunk, be more specific.. I'm also curious what kind of plans you have for your ride.

go for an aftermarket ecu.

try hondata or unichip. do a trial dynorun and shift the ivtec kick in point accordingly.

free up the breathing. k20's are notorious for having induction restrictions. exhausts are not that important.

if you want, try some electric tuning, in that sense, ground the points, and get a reputable voltage stabiliser.

if you're interested in handling, change to aftermarket shocks, and some bars/struts/braces.

bodykits are always an option, but since its a new car, enjoy the looks while it's fresh.

try picking up a copy of hypertune or some other car mag and see what they've got to offer.

i don't think you should swap parts in the engine yet, the auto transmission system might not be compatible with certain aspects of aftermarket valve lift timing.

MOdding ur car will void da warranty. If u dont mind n hav plenty of cash then there r tons of things u can do wif ur car. If not then just drive it till da warranty period is over then u can start 2 do a project on ur car.

Do a search on google and u will find info regarding about modding ur car.

thnx you guys... grateful for all your replies. ^^ will take everything into consideration.

if you are talking about the Civic type r K20A and the DC5 Type R K20A. Then there is no difference. They are the same engine. Unless shiroitenshi can correct me if Im wrong.

I don't know what you wanna do, but there are lots of things you can do something like this.
