Part 1 : Factory Zwickau
The Trabant was East Germany's answer to the peoples car as the Volkswagen Beetle was to West Germany. It features a 595 cc, two-cylinder air-cooled engine; and requires a 50:1 gas-oil mix.
Trabant was produced by East German auto maker VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau in Zwickau, Saxony. More than 3 million Trabant sedans and wagons were built by VEB Sachsenring between 1957 and 1991.

Part 2 : Quality Control with simple tools--------------------Part 3 : The Unique engine sound
It was the most common vehicle in East Germany. The main selling points were that it had room for four adults and luggage, and was compact, light and durable.
Its distinctive body shape is constructed from Duroplast panels (plastic, reinforced with cotton fabric) attached to a galvanized steel shell.
It was in production without any significant changes for about 34 years.
