jz asking..izzit using GM LS coil?

if not..wut brand?

tq

I am not sure what brand Coil are them using. I just going to import for my EVO.

Any one interested in a group buy?

sorry if my question sound stupid, but what is direct ignition?

Direct Ignition is that you have 1 coil per spark plug. which mean that u have better Spark at rich/Higher Boost condition where Turbo car always need richer fuel with Higher Boost. With Direct coil u have not need to buy Extral Performance Cable( ie. NGK power Cable RM450~850/set :smokin:). Where Direct coil have remover the problem of cable Leak..etc with less Miss fire :banghead: problem at higher RPM.

This unit is a Plug and Play unit where u don't need to cut any wire. just takeout the old Coil and plug in the direct Iginition.:listen:

if interested please send PM to me, I am looking for about 4 ppl to get the wholesale price.:wavey:

bro,i get one more very2 stupid question la..
it can make my car fasr ar?:thefinger:

hi bro , i'm interested at the c.o.p ( coil on plug ) ignition. by the way it is the same brand like buschur racing or ams using ? want deposit or full payment ? pm me the details bro. thanks.

 Ya.. is a  Question...

As for I know it will increase the Response for the Whole RPM. Range. but if u want your car faster... try to increase add more performance items, boost controller, injector, piston, exhust, filter, larger turbo....

Or another way is to try to ask your lady :nurse: to drive your car... Haha, as less weight will increase the power of the car too...

Those are GM LS / Intrepid 300M 2.7L coils. Lots of USDM Mitsubishis using this set-up. Do a search on google and you'll find it.

Thanks for the infor.. By the way have u use one before?

How was it?

im using one , is urs from burshur, cos burshur had some problems with dwell timing issues , care to pass me the full spec bro ? cos if im setting up for a standalone, i do need those details, if you stated a GROUP buy , do PM me, i get much much cheaper price if u do wish to make a group buy

Jinkl u have pm. please check

And do tell what problem after u install the Direct coil? so that we will decide if we need to get it or not.

I don't think that there is a big issue with the dwell time. The stock mitsu ecu has a dwell time of about 3.5-4ms and this might be to long for the GM coils and cause the coil to overheat. The Haltech instruction manual suggest 1.8ms for COP applications. I'm using this. However there are auguments for and against COP. Then again some have been using this with their stock ecu for years without probs.

My concerns with it is that the stock ignitor might have issues charging the coils. Basically, they are not being suffficiently charged by the stock ignitor hence you might experience misfire at high rpm / boost. The USDM fellows are gapping their plugs to 0.022-0.025 just to avoid misfire. It will be worse if you are running methanol-water injection. However, if you want to wire them for CDI then they will be a treat!!

Do further research, everything is on-line...

I see what u mean AlucarD. if I can ask the manufacture to custom make a coil with longer Dwell time. which mean bigger coil output right like 40 to 50Kv? will that help?.

And I have search online so far I don't get much result, I will be happy if u will like to, give us some ideal on what u think?:listen:...

For my understanding no Dwell Time is follow.

The dwell time is the amount of time the ignition coil primary has current running through it. So in a points ignition system, it is the amount of time the points are closed. There is only current sent to the spark plug when the points open. So if the dwell time is too short, the current in the primary coils of the ignition coil has not been able to build up far enough so there is not enough magnetic energy stored in the coil to give a good spark.

Please correct me if I am work :nurse:

Yes, that is correct. In mitsubishi's your ignitor is 'dumb' or constant charge you get the signal to fire from the ECU and the ignitor grounds the current and you get a spark. The GM coils can last longer if the dwell time is shorter so you can prevent overheat, but this is a view not shared by all. Some have been running stock dwell time and does not have any problems.

Dwell time is controlled by the ECU or in some vehicles like toyota they are controlled by the ignitor as they are "smart" type. You want a bigger output? convert to CDI ignition like AEM, MSD, HKS DLI, Autronic, M&W etc etc.. simply by swapping in bigger coils will not give bigger output. Increasing dwell time can cause your coils to overheat and burn. Using too low resistence coils or too high resistence coils will screw your ignitor or cause misfiring.

So what u are saying is that the reason for the down side of the COP is due to Longer Dwell time which control by the ECU and cause the GM coil will Over heat.

If that is what u mean can we ask the Coil manufacture to make better coil so that it can take longer Dwell Time ?. as I see what some Company in US OKASA Coil are making project for the COP with good result...

O. as for the Ignition Amplifier... if we install any of the Amplifier(MSD, HKS TWIN, M&W...etc do we have to consider the Dwell time again?. or all that is a CDI type Ignition so that we don't have to consider the Dwell Time:confused:

Thanks in Advance for the infor
