NSX is not carbon fibre, but aluminium. the chassis is full aluminium. I think kerb weight is around 1,300kgs.. which is very light for it's size.
Comparatively, it's also more fuel saving than a ferrari or a lambo that has like 5-6litres under the hood.
Honda's, even gray imports has been priced ridiculously since the beginning. Who remembers the price of the first EK9 that hit Malaysian shores?
Heck, even S2K still expensive, I don't think I've seen one that the owner is asking a sub 200K price tag when selling theirs. Only recently because the car is older that it's coming down to more decent levels, but it still costs more than double the price of a similarly categorized sports car, like the RX-7.
BTW, isn't the reason we mod our cars is to get a fraction of the the feel of 'supercar' at a fraction of the cost? If that person has money, then buy a Civic rather than a Evo or a Subie. If even more money, rather buy Evo/Subie than a NSX, and if have even more money, then rather buy an NSX than a Ferrari.
For those that have low needs and demands, they buy a sports car and drive it very gently.
And for some guys with deep pockets, whacking a sports compact to oblivion is cheaper than whacking a supercar to oblivion. I know of a few people with expensive cars, but still have modded EG's or EK's when they have the need for speed, and they don't really find it burdensome when something breaks, unlike some Evo IX owners that were left scratching their wallets when their turbo failed.
Back on the issue of the Ferrari,
Wonder what happen to the singaporean Ferrari that got hit and run, then mugged in Malaysia recently?
