Its the original color. For the 2.5-16 which was launched in 2005, mercedes launched it with 2 additional new colors, silver and almandine red.

Strange, i dont remember typing in 2005. Anyway, it was probably around 1988 when they launched the 2.5 version, that the new colors came out. Cheers.

Thanks & yeah that was me, i was getting new plates for the car with smaller sized digits, the existing ones were kinda old fashioned as they've been on the car for the last 20 years!
