BMW expects to sell more than 100,000 new M3s according to a report in German industry paper Automobilwoche.
The lofty sales target for the latest generation E90-based M3 has apparently been revealed by a BMW M division representative.

BMW sold 90,000 examples of its previous M3 - the E46 model - before it was discontinued.
Compare that to the 18,000 sales of the original E30 and it goes to show that the M3 brand has evolved into a mass-market product in its own right.

if the M badges are going to be sold by 100K, then what would be the responses of the bosses at BMW? angry? happy?

I mean, M division is a part of BMW in the whole, but, if their sport division (M) can sell like the numbers, then whats da point of having the main production line?

maybe the M badges are limited to 100K production? or the production line is actually sells more than the M badges? TQ
