15" rims on a kelisa..

hello to all taikor...
noobs ere...

i've read this thread until page 20+ and thot i juz ask u all my simple question..
(this is 1 hell of a thread!! took me hours man~ hehe)

ok,i juz got my kelisa few months back..
n the rims are all standard 14" aloy rim 'kipas' wif the tyre simex 165/55/R14..

so i was wondering wat rim sizes that fits nicely and dont kacau the car performances...(FC,pick up..fender hitting..etc..)

so,i wanna ask directly..what if i wanted to change them to :
170/50/R14 - for front tyres (since afraid that it'll hit the fender when turning or wif excessive weights..n bumps...)
175/50/R14 - for rear tyres (since rear end is fixed for kelisa rite? but how bout excessive weights n bumps? will the tyres hit d fender also?)

or maybe for comfort,
170/55/R14 - for front
175/55/R14 - for rear

will it be too heavy..?

and is there anyone willing to explain types of rims that wud fit?
cuz there is heavy rims n light rims rite?
how much will all that costs?
will i have to change my suspensions settings too..?

i'm so sorry if my questions were all answered b4 in the thread..
i'm totally a noob in cars..
hope all the taikor ere cud advise me in this...
sakit mata lorr to see standard tyres n rims...like girly car...tskk~!

thnx guys in advance..

maybe next i want to ask about exhaust systems also..haha~

p/s: koyak poket... :P

from this site : http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

if i changed from :
165/55/R14 to 175/55/R14

it said that the new tyres will have :
3.8" sidewall
67.8" circumference
935.0 revs/mile

what does all of that means..?
anyone cares to explain..?
does it means good..? nicely fit or wat?
got problems or not..?

again thnx evryone...

u r looking at things too technical already, since u r not a F1 Driver, i will always advise u to stick to stock size if u don't want any drop in performance, unless u are talking about more traction, then u can opt for 175-55-14 but u will have issue of drop in performance but traction wise better, that also depend on type of tyre u are getting, if they are chap ayam then bigger size is no point the grip will not be good. Mind u for size 175-55-14, tyre this big size will increase your fuel consumption too.

taikor tohsan..
actually i dont understand a thing from that site..haha~

ok so,if 175/55/14 will be too heavy and will increase my FC...
then how bout 175/50/14 instead? will that be ok? i juz want the tyres to look abit fat than the stock tyres which currently 165/50/14...it that ok now?
it wont have any issues wif the tyres hitting d car rite? how bout suspensions?
pls advise taikor...

again, thnx to all for ur help..

saw before kelisa using kenari rim with 165/60/14....hankook tyre..look like rally style...but don;t know whether it will increase the FC or performance or not...

but the thicker the tyre u use the more FC will increase and performance will drop..worst if ur car is AUto....

but comfort will be there when u use this thick tyre...

are u planning to set ur car like Rally style?

err..kaimeng taiko is it?
no i'm not planning for a rally style car..
juz my eyes sore of seeing the stock tyres all 'nipis' when looking from front/rear...
not from the side of the car...err,get wat i mean..?
and the transmission is manual..
i juz want the tyres to be thicker looking from front/rear..
cuz melaka jln byk lubang..stock tyres nearly fit in those lubang...
i dont drive that much..only on weekend (or driving back to kl..my family there..) cuz i have kapcai to go to work...
so,not really much concern on FC...isnt kelisa saved much fuel oredi? ;)

tohsan taikor...how to explain JJ and offset...

i also new to tyres and rim...hope uncle tohsan can help u..

if u are driving back from melaka on weekend...i think u better get a good quality tyre for better grip on the road...wider rim will give u better grip...

ahaa..thats the term..."wider" tyres...
hehee..me owiz confused when say "thicker"...

yes agree wif u kaimeng taiko..
wider tyres does giv better grips..cuz its WIDE...hehe..plus looks more better than 'kurus' stock tyres...

so,does 175 for rear n 170 for front good?
hope doesnt hit the fender by any cause...

n how much will it costs for good tyres n rims?
wat tyres n rims that consider good (n cheap..haha..) :P

thnx all taikors~
