I think the weight of the wheels is irrelevant here, coz your car's engine is rotating the drive shaft to move the ENTIRE weight of the car. If you had "light" wheels & then you have an extra passenger in your car, then what's the difference... right? Hehe...

lighter wheels will ensure lighter unsprung weight, in whole, reducing whole car's mass, resulted in less inertia to push the car forward n to stop the car, by this theorically will increase the sprint time, lesser braking distance and will reduce usage of petrol, in the other hand, the heavier it is for the unsprung weight, will result in better top speed. so there is pro and cons here, its up for the owner, which one to go for.... top high end speed or pick-up. also lighter wheel will be better for town driving and heavier wheel is better for highway cruising.
