On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris. No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.

The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets.

Why this video look like a music video played before at Hitz.TV ?

this was featured in Fifth Gear b4....the driver was Lelouch himself in a 60's S-Class Merc.....the sound of the Ferrari was dubbed into the video.......lastly, Snow Patrol recently used this video as their music video for their song "Open Your Eyes".......

And I thought the world and its younger brother and sister should have already seen this by now.

It is called C'était un rendez-vous btw.

Extra, extra, read all about it; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C'%C3%A9tait_un_rendez-vous

aww dammit i got in the thread late, everyone gave the history lesson already.
