just want to give a suggestion to moderator or anyone that is concern about our car industry in malaysia.how about we make a memorandum and send it to the government and ask them to lower the tax on cars or the aftermarket spareparts. i'm getting sick of thinking that we are paying 3.4 times the actual car price in our own country.not to mention the cost of spareparts that also fall victim to the ridiculous tax that have been ripoff from the people in malaysia.with our community of 49,344 users, that would be a strong backup to begin with...may our voice be heard.....

car tax is getting very low now. in fact, they are no more than 5% as allowed by AFTA rules.

spare parts arer also cheaper than it used to be 10 years ago...

for example a new front bumper for Honda Civic SO4 (that is EK/EJ series) used to retail about RM1,200++. ask anyone who owns one before or works with Kah Motor.

Now a similar bumper (genuine) cost only about RM400++.

how much less do we want?

from a different perspective of view, IMO what the G is doing is okay. let me ask you if you are the prime minister what would you do to get income for your government?

look around and we all should be glad that our country has good growth rate, has modern road networks as well as good water and electricity supply.

agreed. I'm not too happy with the government, but at least i'm content with it. Only thing i hate is the corruption and the way the government is spending money, and that it-could-have-been-better-if-only-they-blahblahblah idea i always had.

It is impossible to make everyone happy, then your only choice is to find the perfect balance so everyone is content with what they have. I have no idea whether this is the perfect balance for malaysia or not, but i don't care since i don't have the power to do anything. Everyone who played Sim City should get the rough idea on how difficult it is to pleased everyone.

no..just wait two more years. that time, AFTA will be fully implemented. so, start saving now.

AFTA will enable foreign cars/ goods to enter our market tax-less. like I say, start saving now!

Honestly, from my point of view, the government we have now is really sucks!! Always come out with big ideas but very weak interm of implementations. But what to do, other candidates is seem much more sucks than them. So lets try to live with the one with less sucks! Just please dont rise the price of those daily needslah.

AFTA wont b implement so soon yet as u guys can see the gov is trying to delay it.
From the current new / used car price, we already know that it is long way to go.
The AFTA will kill every one instead of helping.

Imaging your car will b worthless someday but u still owe finance big amount of money. Will u gonna pay it ?
We are already too deep inside of it, its hard enough to get out of it. If even so, there will b much much sacrifice.
