I heard fr a friend tat after installing ATF (Auto Transmition Fuel) cooler into his car seem gave him more stable power in term of pickup......btw his car is a wira 1.5 auto NA......so i am not sure about this thing so any of u have this item in your car care to comment.....izzit useful if i install this item....... :regular_smile:

ATF cooler does not provide more power but it help in regulates and keep the ATF fluid from over boiling. Auto tranny is very sensitif to ATF fluid as if you're cooked it, spell disaster to your GB

oh icic...so if my car still in NA state, so there is no need this ATF cooler liow izzit..........

not really. If u always tekan your car very much, thn i think its better for you to have one. Anyway there is no harm for extra protection.

there is a cheap way doing so. get those oil cooler that comes with some stock performance car frm chop shop. price vary frm rm80 onwards. make sure u get one which is not too big as you may suffer oil press drop which will burn your GB also. Also make sure it comes with complete adapter head

I am willing to bet you that if you remove his ATF cooler without him knowing, he would not notice any difference.

Also, it's Automatic TRansmission FLUID, not fuel.

Fuel = Bahan Api

Some of the volvo boys do use a atf cooler, but I would imagine the torque levels in a 1.5 NA wira would be hardpressed to be pitched against, say, a 850 T5 ?

thanks boggysv for the info.......

basil,
nop. im not so active in the TT. you guy's progress mod too fast. me old man canot catch up. whahahaha.

anyway for your info, i guess u could feel alittle bit diff with/without ATF cooler after a long journey like going to KL. Normally u will felt your car abit sluggish after paying toll but with ATF cooler installed, you will feel the respond on gear shifting is better. thats the only "thing" you can feel. As for the rest, its all in prevention

I did a major overhaul for my W4A33 auto gearbox recently and upgraded all the seals, clutches, rings and mod the torque converter. One major flaw with stock OEM AT cooler is the thickness. In my case, Mitsubishi used the same AT cooler for engine oil cooler too. Temp is around 97C. After another 2500km, I will opt for Long AT cooler (thinner and bigger with minimal pressure drop). Hoping to reduce it further to at least 90C.

Anyone knows where to buy a TRANS TEMP gauge? I know we can use OIL TEMP gauges but I don't need 2 OIL TEMP gauges.

ATF cooler from Evo? you mean oil cooler from evo and u convert it to ATF cooler rite? But if im not wrong stock evo got no oil cooler at all?
