Benefit to replace bonnet with Carbon Fiber

So far I only know 2 benefit to replace bonnet with carbon fiber,
1. Reduce weight, hence improve performance/petrol.
2. For outlook purpose.

I heard that carbon fiber bonnet can help reduce engine heat, is that true ?
This is very useful for those turbo engine because of our environment nature - HOT WHETHER !

Anyone know and share ?

Fact : CF is not a conductor of heat. Reducing engine heat is done by radiators, fans, coolants, etc.. but you already know that. Or are you talking about engine bay temperature? If engine bay temp - no difference unless your hood is vented or you lifted it.

And I believe you mean "petrol consumption"? Not improve petrol?

Opinion : A CF hood decreases frontal weight so it changes the handling characteristics of the car to some extent. I personally found it to be "lighter" to drive but for some reason the front grip wasn't as good when it came to high speed directional changes. But then again my car was a lowly Wira, compared to a aero-ed out full spec Evo that's probably a different story.

Currently my bonnet is CF, but I prefer original more.
Because of that fact, I still stay with CF atm.

Carbon fiber hood definitely will lift the impression about adding another 100whp.
The existing MR hood already light weight.

I do like the CF parts but taking care of it is another matters.

yes i agree on the 'taking care' part.
myself once a week without fail...the hood needs to be clean/wash be it, on a heavy rain season.
car dirty, but hood super clean and shiny. hahahahahaha

Getting the dry carbon seems different league already.

If I recall correctly, sometime ago a Airtrekker using the Evo Alu hood decided to swap to a CF (wet) hood. Turns out the CF hood (from a reputable brand) was heavier than the Alu hood. Dry CF might be a different story though.

I think is because of the vents on top of the CF hood...could that be what they were saying but not specific enough so causing confusion?

Yup, if enclosed whatever material the heat is still contained, that is what bro Izso mentioned to vent it out then will be cooled....

Advantage: Carbon hood is alot lighter than stock, better apex reduce understeer for tracks.
Disadvantage: Easily crack with a small rock dropped above 10ft from the hood.

actually it reduce engine bay temp because most cf hood got vent hole on it already..u got the same effect if u cut vent hole on stock hood also
