Better air fuel ratio for torque?

WOW, so many ppl give good comment here.

honda Fit with TD04 turbo at max 0.6 bar only.
Not for racing and normal driving N/W highway.

My tunner set A/F 11.5, after I installed AEM A/F gauge,
I do myself some adjusting 12.5 for 5000 RPM and above because when my car reached 170 km/h,
my car cannot go faster, but if i release some fuel, instead slow down, it go up to 190 km/h, that why i know 12.5 give better power.

But I just want to know 11.5 or 13.5 which is better only. HEHEHEHE.
I had RSM and i clocked 0-100 km/h, both are abt the same timing as 11.5
clocked abit more faster in some test run, but average is abt the same.
However, I had felt that at 11.5 ,the turbo sound more powerful only.

Currently i had retune myself from 11.5 to 13.5 at 3000 RPM.

By the way, is it comment that the A/F ratio gauge always jumping? Is it very hard to see current A/F ratio.

Lean gives u response... But insufficient fuel to cool down ur cylinder. When cylinder temperature rises, the heat may ignite the fuel before TDC or spark ignition. This is called knock or premature detonation. When this happen, it'll damage ur engine.

Worse case scenario, it can melt down the pistons, bend/break the conrod, cause holes on ur engine short block. When the above happens, there are also tendency that the particles flow out from the exhaust and damage the turbo.

So, do u think the little response worth the risk to be taken..?

Since there is no CR reduction on ur engine done, then, it's best to stay away from getting to lean. There is a reason why ur tuner does that. Do you have a EGT mounted on ur exhaust..? The EGT can directly reflet to the cylinder temperature...

And 0.6 bar for an NA CR is consider quite high. I wouldn't take the risk if I were U.

i also found out where you mount the sensor also will give differant reading. so the reading that chris mentioned is based on sensor mounted at tail pipe ? or somewhere near downpipe?

err... my level goes no where. still learning... i ran 11.8afr wid conservative timing at 1.2bar .. the sensor mounted under the car near the flexible nenas.

Yes... like mentioned earlier, the wideband reading can be affected by outside air. So, u'll notice that the AFR is a little leaner when the wideband is mounted at the exhaust outlet compare to mounting it at the downpipe. Any leakages will also affect the AFR reading along the exhaust piping.
 
if i not mistaken, emanage program has a function to lean out the af mixture when sudden WOT. then a few seconds later it richen back. anyone can justify this ? coz last time my tuner told me when we were roadtuning on putrajaya highway
 
e mnage wise only d ultimate version can do tis .. under the acceleration injection map and acceleration ignition map for timing.

for standalone. all the standalone have tis function.. for microtech is pump1 and pump 2 if im not mistakan (correct me if im wrong)
 
hmmm, but i was using emanage blue. using updated software downloaded from GT auto....maybe blue oso can use this setting kua, no ? hehe
 
from my experience when tuning, i just put my wideband on my mufler tip, tested several places also get the same reading.. so for me not much issue on where you mount your wideband 02 sensor becoz gas exhaust blows gas out, it will not suck air in hehehe..

tested dyno tune my turbo car at full load at afr 13.5/12.7/11.5... not much diffrence with HP and tork, just like 5@6hp deference... but when playing with ignition, the power and tork will increase alot..

also, i use a datalogger to watch all my sensors and knocking count. :driver:

By the way is yr A/F gauge using digital type?
why my digital A/F show from 11~ 13, very hard to predict what they try to show.
The only time there are constant is when high speed ( 140 km/h or more)
what the reason?

datalog them down and export them to notepad (if using dynojet) then u will knw where it fluctuate and correct from there... gauge is just rough estimation when you are doing your run.
