Caps question, Please help.

Hi, How to test whether the 1 Farad caps falty or not? how long will 1 Farad caps hold the charge? after disconnect the terminal of my caps, the voltage display instantly drop, is it normal? What is the the red LED and Green LED for? Thanks.

How fast its drop?? Did ur fren install any caps?? u can do a test, try to disconnect both at the same time n c the diff.

there red and green stand for power and protection..if not mistaken power red green protection

the displayed voltage will drop everytime u off ur ignition keys too.

last time when i install my cap, i notice once the wire taken off voltage will drop
too. then it auto off. but that doesn't mean it has fully discharged. u need
to discharge b4 storing it.

But, within 10 sec after disconnect the cable, not only the voltage instantly drop, it can only light up the 12v 5watts (very small, gauge bulb) less than 2 sec, not bright tho.... test with digital volt meter, it shows 0 volt. it just looks like the caps isn't holding any charges. or was it normal? why i'm so 'sueh' bought this caps..

ermm.... i was given a little small bulb for discharge and charging...
it only takes few seconds to charge and discharge also. i think
that is normal tough.

need to ask those who study electrical. i also not sure about this.
