bro.... this was one of my reply previously. Just from my own point of view...
"I'll tend to be more conservative. I mentioned this before, the car is designed in a way with proper mathematical calculations based on every aspect. The AWD isn't there for nothing. So I'll stick to AWD setup."
its just one of option we can choose. depends on the owners.. want our trek maintainance abit cheap but sacrifice abit of traction, go for 2wd. if u really need the traction, stick with awd..
its true.every things has it purpose but when comes to daily driving in town or speeding in hway it doesn't serve its purpose.
btw,awd is meant for offroads.
evos was born in rally races not hways.....evos need the awd bcause u floor it u lose traction, power to weight ratio gap is very big,tat y u go zig-zag on wira-evos.
but for trek, heavy body, crazy 50whp sucker gearbox...im pretty sure u got lotsa traction on tarmac.
awd without ayc is pretty useless...
I am standing my ground that AWD is the proper setup for the design of our cars. I wudn't say AWD is useless with AYC. But those who has modified seen good improvements, so it boils down to individual needs. :wavey:
i think if mine is a 300++whp trek, i would maintain awd. but mine is a slow 170whp, wouldn't feel any different in fwd setup.. m i rite?
just wanna share some thought

n im also wondering, how does it fell driving a forester turbo with 160+BHP? its what they claim in the spec..
Comparing the standard Forrester with 170hp against Airtrek with 240hp. 70hp more is a lot but in reality, Forrester is equally fast. That's what I meant. But for Forrester STi, then that is a different story. With manual transmission, it can eat Airtrek for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus supper all the time. Again, I am comparing Stock STi vs. Stock Airtrek.
Standard Forrester STi has like over 250/280hp but I may remembered wrongly.
For Ralliart Airtrek Turbo, I read too many variant. Some said only cosmetic look - bodykit, seats, carpet, rims, grill and airscoop. Some comes with Ralliart exhaust and re-mapped ECU with slightly more torque. But you are right, it's not that different compared to stock Airtreks.
Normal Forrester Turbo vs. Forrester STi, then it's a different story. Hehhee...
last time i did some tiny research on ralliart airtrek n found out it has alot of performance part. but i didnt sure is it the same boost press or not.. like drop-in filter, absorber, fmic steel pipe, brakepad, exhaust etc.. if it the same boost level, then it cant leave the stock far behind. but if the boost level more than 0.5bar, it is fast enough to catch up on evo's..
Oh yeah I forgot the suspension. I'm using it myself. Hahaha.
Raised boost will increase quite a lot of punch for sure. Abt catching up Evos, I doubt cos Evo is really fast even in stock. Don't forget, it's manual tranny too. The dumb Airtrek INVECS II eats up around 50whp.
Additionally Ralliart version has no difference in brakes. It's still the same.
I saw a local review last time from AUTO magazine that reviewed Airtrek Turbo Ralliart version. Car received a lot of positive review except that brake wasn't 'improved' compared to stock version. Stock brake is already weak, coupe that with the heavy rediculous 1600kg chassis, it's not stopping it well. What more we idiots increase the power! hahaha...
hahah... we're guys man.. we r attracted to power as always.. i know ralliart trek still uses twin pot brake thats why it isn't perform well.. they should have given it 4 pot.. at least a GTO one if not the brembo..
If you think the Atom sounds like a symphony of screaming Minions, you're not alone. This Atom 3.5R is powered by a Civic Type-R 2L K20 engine and bolted to it is a supercharger, making it some of the loudest howlers...
