Did anyone face the problem as what I've faced ?

This is my letter to DELL :

[FONT=times new roman, new york, times, serif][FONT=times new roman, new york, times, serif]Hi,
To : Whom it may concern,

This letter is to express my HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT with DELL and its associates in relations to your diminishing QUALITY CONTROL with your 640M model that I've received along with its FLAWS.

My Inspiron 640M which has the service tag of ------------- arrived about late November or so BUT WITH THE problem of :
1.) Keyboard button not plugged in properly
2.) Window XP problems
3.) Unable to read DVD / CD problem

I've called many of your technical support personnels plus Mr. Kalai ( your outsource engineer tries to fix and fix and fix my problem to the extend that my unit was hopeless so replacement unit were sent to me. but my problem has just revived itself.

I just got my replacement unit : ----------- (service tag) just 1 hour ago.

FOR A START -
1.) It came with WINDOW XP problem too : the system just 'HANG' / 'LAG' / 'UNABLE TO RESPOND'
2.) Where is my partition ? There should be 20 GB (C drive) - 60 GB (D drive) but instead it is only 70GB in C only.

My opportunity costs :

ALMOST 1 MONTH TIME OF COMPLETING MY ASSIGMENT and DOING MY WORK ! I am losing my pace of work here and your unit is 100% liable for my loses.

Put yourself in my 'shoes' and try to imagine the problems that I face due to your organization's incompetency and thus losing of competitive edge over your competitors. You should know that cultivating long-term customer loyalty is very important. One single word can spread like fire and cause a bundle of bad image and thus your sales portfolio and viability.

Please rectify my problem. I have no more time for repairing again and again (OR) replacement again even though engineers are available.

Do tell me what should I do ? REFUND ? GET another unit ? or go to your competitor ?

( Chek your database for my records )

Sorry for my expression, but anybody in my pathethic and unfortunate position would be in despair and immensely furious

Thanks, Regards,
From,
A loyal customer of DELL which is very disappointed.

phone them again and complain to em ala Mr Chua and maybe they would hook you up with a better model by chance .

thought they have been bucking up since the battery incident .

aiya DELL normal lar, just call them, then they will come to ur house 2molo to change it.
this what u get if u buy cheap product,

I've just got the replacement model just now couple of hours ago. Now my computer will jammed out of no where and no respond and my windows just hang. So many times already.

Call them so many times already....... Engineer spent like few hours and 2 days already before getting the replacement unit (just arrived - but problematic also) from them.

Wasted almost 1 month. Have to borrow temporary laptop from someone. Moreover their technical support personnel is off duty today. WTF.

Sickening.... waste time and money... NO MORE DELL.....

Last time I got this INSPIRON 6000 from them last year around June... another flaw with DVD / CD-RW Combo problem So disappointed.... I thought things won't get worse.

NO MORE DELL - TOO MANY BAD EXPERIENCE.

You got a replacement faulty computer with a faulty computer? That really sucks.

yeap .. that's right ..... my gf's TOSHIBA which I'm using now is much better..... iskh ... but much more expensive. Kesian ... nvm.... hope can refund or so...

Try to get this nonsense for 1 whole month from DELL - anyone would be pissed.

its cheap because they use OEM parts which is bought at bulk vs one to one selling @ computer shops .

argh damn, now i'm thinking twice.... i'm about to get their XPS M1210 laptop.... looks kinda kewl to me... and with monthly installments is an advantage....

what do you guys think ??

go for the offer i belive they had lower their prices to stay competitive after the battery incident .

just pray the battery ure using dosent explode lol

Eh.? I thought DELL pc reliable one? But i could tell you most of the branded pc's downfall is not their hardware. But their stupid prebundled software that monitors a whole plethora of hardware. If you uninstalled all of them, the PC magically works without any problem. Its easy for them to just copy a sample working hard disk to multiple computers. And the software has no time to check if the hardare is working properly. A Major problem with most big pc manufacturers.

All of this just to make it look value for money. Look at the new el cheapo RM1799 DELL pc. Yes its the cheapest. But you get no optical mouse, no parallel port and no serial port. You do get a BTX board based case and a LCD monitor. The plastics for the LCD is coarse btw. Those who plan to run legacy devices should look elsewhere. They do put a Vista ready sticker there. But the pc can't run it properly. The hardware is waaay minimum for Vista. Look at their fine print. Which no one reads btw.

And don't forget to buy onlie or you get no rebate!

Dell.. is, to be honest, fairly reliable, and ez to maintain... it all depends on the user. Although, i'm not trying to accuse the thread started as a lousy user.... but such cases does happen, for unexplained reasons.

oh yea.. fuck IBM T43... itz xpensive.. and fucking unreliable. I've swapped 2 hdd, and 2 motherboards already... and it is less than 1 yr old. And best part... the swappings... it all happened in a space of 2 months.

my dell however, 2 units at home... are running as good as new... love em. Have been trashing it more than the ibm... and it just works so well. But one just went bust, thanks to a 10 yr old girl, a 3 yr old girl, and a 30++ yr old man... Still haven't have a time to fix it, but i believe is OS prob.. no big deal.. will settle it during my long vacation.

u guys speak as though brands like acer / dell / compaq etc produce the internal parts but they are only merely assembling oem parts it and selling it to ya .

remember that CM showned on tv after promoting the lineup - intel inside ?

and another thing about computers , if it goes wrong the user would blame the system but in fact most of the time the error/problem was caused by the user himself .

You just went against your own comment ?

Yea, its reliable. But we;re in the real world. Manufacturing defects do happen, he might have gotten a faulty batch of computers.
