dats the cable ties....used about 300++ for all 4 brakes

the thingy in circle is cable tie??? [/b][/quote]
That's the 'head', do this so that the gap between 2 ties are closer together... I did that too...

dats the closest i can get....ur hose is flexible....and its curvy.....so when u tie the cable ties....no matter how close it is....it will still leave a gap for the curves of the hose.....

u wan close close till no gap den ur hose will be as straight as hell....

just now i tried one side of the hose....hmmmm got tiny effect lar...now when i press brake, more firm! :)

actually.....dun need to b so close, dun really feels the difference IMO, i try it out b4, dun feel the difference....

juz dun align the head of the ties togatherlor so u can tie them closer, but i still doubt it got difference....

if your brake hoses are still in good condition, then u won't feel the difference...

hmmm. what are the chances of cracking the current brake hose lines?
if they are...13 years old?

there is dangerous if got craking.....i think the mech will check for u once u changing brake pads.....

my previous sunny i sstill using de original brake hoses.. 15 years liao... i asked my dad n he said never changed b4...

i just finished tying cable ties on my brake hose.

to my suprise the cable on an old toyota is way harder compare to Proton's, but i tie them anyway. haven't go for a test drive so dunno whats the effect yet.

one thing is i can't find no brake hose for the rear wheel. only small steel pipe connecting to the rear drum brake. The small steel pipe is the same one as the steel pipe that connect the brake hose to the wheel arc at the front wheels. with the front hose shorter than expected now i'm left with damn many cable ties.

rollakid:

look deeper inside your wheel well.. there should be the rubber hose (so your suspension can go up and down without twisting the brake hoses off!)

dudes... don't tie it too close....

might shorten the life span of your hoses...

i did mine too about last year....

braking more firm... good diy...

theory is ... when you apply your brake the hose because its rubber hose will expand...... which explains the spongy feeling in some brakes...

this diy is the same as steel braided hoses..... and steel braided hoses hold the rubber tube so that it doesn't expand....

by using zip ties... you must leave a little clearance between each zip tie for the rubber hose to expand a little....

because our hands are not perfect as in the clearance between each zip tie is not the same.... some parts of the exposed hose is weaker then the other....

in other words... hose can pecah so please be carefull...

aright.. i think i'm drunk so i guess i better stop typing liaoz

hmmm...........if i tight it very close, the brake oil actually dun 'see' the rubber, instead it is sustain by the cable tie, how can it shorten the hose life if the hose is actually doing nothing (or very little in xpending)? but tat is from my theory, i'm not very surelahh.....

if u put it loose, then will there b more force then normal in between the cable ties?

i know lots of ppl r worry abt tis diy, let me ask u tis : is steal braided hose last longer then normal rubber hose? if yes then y tis diy should b dangerous?

tat is wat i think...........
