I'm planning to leave my laptop running overnight. Is it ok to let it plugged in all night or is it better to drain the battery, then recharge it again and again?

No. Most new laptop batts are LiOn which do not require any power drain unlike it's older NiMH.

U wan ur laptop to run all night, y not u just plug in the power supply and take off ur battery? Although alot of batteries stated that they wont spoilt due to overcharge, but it still will spoilt. My fujitsu battery spoilt in months because i always plug in my power supply wit my battery on.

since u're not using the laptop why dont u just switch it off? as simple as that. Or like that fritz said.. remove the battery.

N make sure your laptop doesn't over heat... always remember that laptop doesn't dissipate heat as good as the desktops...
