what engine? 4G?? for Proton or mitsubishi?

well if u want to know fuel consumption of an engine, it starts with the smallest displacement having the lowest consumption.

like..
4G13 - 1298cc
4G15 - 1468cc
4G92 - 1597cc
4G93 - 1834cc
4G63 - 1997cc

but when u put those engines into different chassis and bodysizes with varying gearbox ratios, then you will get all kinds of different fuel consumption.

fuel consumption is a very subjective topic, with many factors need to be calculated such as car weight, road surface condition, tyre pressure and even wind speed among others. the very biggest factor of them all is the driver's attitude - whether he is a lightfooted driver or heavyfooted pedal-to-metal type.

which explains why proton gen2 1.6 (with 1200kg gorss weight) can do about 5.7 litres for every 100km. its tested at a constant speed of 90kmh which no one in the world can do for even 10 minutes. but such FC test is fair even though not realistic.

4Gxx family. Whichever engine starts will letter 4G will do.
Example,

4G15p
4G18p

4G62
4G63
4G91
4G92
4G93

Yes. I agreed with your point. So, various people will having various fuel consumption as well.
So, here we are going to share our fuel consumption ratio based or 100km/?litre.

Anyone?

1) waja 1.6 auto year 2000 4G18 SOHC.

73 litre = 1000km mix driving (highway, town, A/B roads)
100km = 7.3 litres using Shell.

not bad.

2) wira 1.6 4G92 SOHC

36.5 litres = 400km using new Primax3. @ 100km = 9.1 litres.
36.5 litres = 440km using new Shell @ 100km = 8.3 litres

Seem that 4G18 having a very good fuel consumption comapres to 4G92.

miss out one.. 4G12 (lancer model A172A).. 1 km = 0.18 cents on highway usage.. FC kinda high coz old engine..

OK, i just pump in full tank in my 4G18 (Waja Manual). Calculated and my stat is

1 litre = 14.473km

Stay in Sg. Buloh and work in PJ so it would be like 50/50 highway and town. LDP sucks!

was thinking whether i change my normal spark plug to iridium could give me higher mileage or not !!?? may be 42litre -> 580km

lol i din floor the gas pedal much la....
maximum 3k RPM only
usually 2.5k RPM already shift gear
sometimes 'play play' only rev to 4k RPM or being challenged

+ some modifications thats help me to improve FC and power as well haha

31L > 350km+-
1L > 11.2km
1km > 0.17cens

wif 16'" stock rim last time, im doing new calcurlation wif 15" rim, hope can get bttr result.

that depends whether u alwiz boost or not mah...
if u keep it off boost, fc sure almost same as normal cars....
