Yokohama Advan Neova AD07

On dry pavement, the Yokohama tires put the BMW cars in a position to go fastest through our tests. Check the results. With the Yokos at all corners, the BMW was fastest on the dry autocross, and they provided the shortest stopping distance by a significant margin.

Geswein knew the Yoko was a grippy tire before its results were posted. "Grip is way up," he commented after a run. He also noted that grip level stayed consistent even when the tire was sliding. In the dry, it performed a lot like the BFGoodrich, but the Yokohama is also pretty good in the wet.

Of all the tires, Geswein thought the Yokohama and the BFG g-Force rewarded aggressive driving because the two had a wide plateau of grip versus slip angle. That means if you enter a corner a little too fast and begin sliding, the Yokohama recovers quickly and in some sense covers up your mistakes.

The behavior in the wet was a little more toward the slippery end of the scale, but we could push the Yokohama hard and not feel as if we were on the verge of a sudden spinout. This combination of outstanding dry performance and more-than-passable wet performance makes the Yokohama a very alluring product. If you're looking to cut the quickest lap times while using a street tire, this is the one to have.

Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212

The Hankook has one feature the other tires can't match—a $99 price. And to its credit, the Hankook didn't behave like the cheapest tire, particularly when the track was dry. It tied the $175 Yokohama and $145 Goodyear for second place in lateral grip, scoring 0.94 g. And although its dry-braking results landed it in last place, that shortcoming did not greatly affect the Hankook's dry-autocross showing—a 29.86-second average, a third-place result that was only 0.20 second away from the winning effort.

It became apparent that the Hankook was clearly tuned for dry running as its wet-track results were below average. Like the other poor runners in water, the Hankook felt greasy and was slow to recover once it broke traction. But in the dry, the Korean tire felt just as responsive and sticky as its more-expensive competition.

The thing is, though, the harder you drive, the more tread you'll burn off a tire. So if you're a track-day addict who doesn't mind sacrificing some wet-weather capabilities, the Hankook is a choice that will save you money without losing much performance.

this tyre not good in wet...not good in aquaplanning...really no good in wet cornering..

Not really good in dry emergency braking...
not very good in steering response as well...

but this tyre can do very fast in lap timing...very sticky in corner..can do very high g force cornering...it really stick to the road.

this tayar..use in sepang..sure nice....if drift..put in front...sure wont understeer after warm up.

coz after this tyre heated up..the whole sidewall become very soft and sticky like slick...only the sidewall not the middle thread.

the sidewall of this tyre is softer than ad07...i dun think it last longer than ad07..

if a evo or subaru 4wd using this tyre....sure very very fast in corner..

this tyre need skill to do fast lap timing..no skill sure lose a lot of time..

I'm just wondering, to test the full potential of the tyre, you need to "run-in" the tyres at least 500 to 1000KM. New tyres are nowhere near the full potential as you have some hardened rubber, some dirts built up and just simply not grippy enough. When i was driving a manual car, each time i had brand new tyres, wheel spin would come in easily at 1st and 2nd gear. Once the tyres are run-in, its hard to spin the tyres at 2nd gear.

So based on your claim of reaching Genting in 25 mins, once your tyres are fully run in, i think you might even do 20 mins to the top.

oh..run in 300 km only

cannot tahan...test genting already...no need run in wan...coz no run in also..the tayar rubber already koyak after whack corner...

if run in then whack...i think new year have to buy new tayar

what about the ...Yokohama A520 .... did i get the tyre "model" correct? wat do u all think of this tyre? heard that its good in Dry (coz is sticky type) .. but wet not good ..?

a520 good in dry also..but cannot compare with this hankook lar..
in term of dry good also

all season tyres
but noisy lor...

A520 good buy coz cheap

195/50/15 rm 138
around that price..

noisy ler
u see the flower already can tell

serious ar ..? i juz changed to that tyre leh... DAMN, RM135 only?! where?! i bought for RM165-170 lidet leh...

the grip i feel more better than my previous original sime tires that came with my LMST ... lol ..

When you shift from Sime Tyres to any other brand of tyres in the world, you will feel hell lots of difference. Sime seem to make the most fuck up tyres in the world. If you wanna buy a tyre that last 10 years, go get it. Condition is, you must drive slow at all time coz there's virtually no grip.

Yokohama makes pretty good tyres. Generally they're a bit more expensive that Goodyear, Silverstone, Bridgestone but even their entry level tyres are pretty decent performance. I'm using the ES100 and i find that the dry grip is superb.

Lolzz... yeah true ... Real emergency braking with Sime Tyres will just cause the car to skid ... can't stop. especially if there's sand on the road .. or juz .. wet roads.
Cornering with sime tyres are not really that good too because it'll lose traction easily. That's from my experience ... Although i dun normally take fast corners anyway...

Anyway, how much did u get the ES100 for prodigy?

I still cant believe TypicalGuy got his yokohama A520 for RM135 only......... arghhh!

haiyar normal lar

rm135 ..so cheap coz..u know why?
this tyre damn old model lar..where got manufacture somemore..all old stock wan...

my fren bought this tyre together with me mah...

now i heard my fren say rm350 can get 2 pieces of Rs2 lar..i bought rm 490 lar

sigh....

sime astar..altho traction not that high...but the tyre sidewall quite hard..good for cornering...quite stable...can feel when the tyre will lose grip..this is the most important..

those expensive tyre..very hard to feel when it will break traction ...
