ok,heres the story,i just gto back from jalan-jalan around KL area.
then suddenly all of my lighting gonee
open up the hood, and saw the turbine was red hot,same as the manifold.
the water temp of my car was running normal.
rev up the engine after it has cooled down.no white smoke or so.
what the problem am i facing with the turbine?haih.:banghead:

awh i didnt raced the car or wangan for a long period of time.boost meter shows everything is normal.theres a boost.:confused:

another thing,just changed my engine oil to toyota's engine oil. 10-40sw.semi synthetic
engine spec:
stock standard with automatic gearbox.
boost 0.7,normal boost.

please help.haih......

manifold n turbine housing turning red is kinda normal
it means exhaust temp is on the high side

various reasons could come around..

1. engine running lean..
2. is your engine stock SR20DET ? or BOT ? or ?
3. manifold design, creating back pressure
4. ignition too high
 
really?till the wiring of the lighting kong?
but i didnt rarely boost the engine.

is it afr is to lean?or theres a boost leak?
or the gasket toasted?

1. i just checked the spark plug,bronze.asked my fiend to look on it.he said the same.
2.its a stock sr20det.
3. manifold design?herm....but its stock.is anyone else having this problem with standard manifold?
4.aha,this minght be the prob.need to check with workshop.

is there a specialist sr20 workshop around?with reasonable price.
 
bro..i think nothing gonna happen la...just some wiring problem ..let the engine dead a time..

the monifol always is hot expeclly when u open the hood at the nite time...just a normal..

mybe your battery or alterneter wanna kong liow...u check your fuse box...feul pump fuse r connecting feul...u check n see...
 
okok,i'll check on the wiring and fuse first.a friend of mine also mention to me that thr turbine is normal.
but i did also googled around,and they stated that the problem might from toasted manifold-turbo gasket,boost leak somewhere, or afr running lean.

haih,wanna change back to vtec if like this.hahahah

Bump: ok.checked the fuse,yupe,burnt.have to change it tommorow,since theres no sparepart shop open on sunday.couldnt find it at tesco,jusco or careffor anyway.

now the prob is with my turbine.really have to check it.cuz when i rev the cat just now.
there cpreettt cpreeet sound came from it.i think there might be a hold somewhere leaking,have to open up the cover.and another thing it must be the gasket.because the last time i revved up the car,the boost will be 0.5,right now just 0.3

confirm gasket koyak, sound like ur exhaust leaking rite? buy a new gasket, because there's no exhaust pressure to the turbine fin to gain boost as the exhaust pressure leaking, thats why u manage to get only 0.3bar...
 
allright,so i have to change the gasket from the manifold to the turbine.
or everything that already toasted.haih.vey nice job engine.
tommorow going to check the oil pump also.
 
change the manifold edy,will look on it wheter the engine is darn hot or not.
sheesh,rm1.2k for manifold.if tonka takpe gak.
just nice,the old one crack edy.

now,have to wait,money,need to change gearbox.
 
ok,i think my seal for my turbo kong edy,
can some please tell me how much is the cost to repair it back?
or irs easier to change to kedai potong turbo?

btw im using t25 garret turbo
