How did you get your first skyline?

I got a question though; do you ever feel that you’ve traded off a true sports car for a very fast grand touring car? My personal feeling is that the Skylines are not exactly sport cars and although they both have very different (and great) feeling about them they are still worlds apart.

Do you mean R32? As a GT car? Interesting, because its very rare that people see it as that.

R32 is very very near to racing pedigree. In fact, MkIV supra is much more a GT, even marketed as that by Toyota whereas R32 GTR is basically still a racing car in full road trim.

Oh, my story - fell in love with the afterburner lights. Borrowed some money from my parents and traded in my 1st car, '88 Prelude (flip-up lights, fantastic car in it's own right - sunroof). It was a R33 GTS-25t. Both cars were AUTO LOL:rofl:

woo.. by the sound of it blackhowling's supra is more like godzilla than a daily terror of the road. any idea where i can get a rare sighting of it?

Yup I personally feel that Skylines (exception for R35) are not main stream sports car… it’s only my personal feelings. If you run a definition search online there will be almost a thousand ways to define what a sports car is, but personally to me a ‘sports car’ is a low slung, powerful, light weight, must be coupe & has a chassis where your bottom must be almost scraping the floor :-), turn heads (form the opposite sex) & not shared by any other models.

I’ve have no doubt that the skyline has a great race pedigree, but we’re talking about type of car not so much about pedigree (by my humble definition) Don’t get me wrong, I do love my R33 but I just feel...Different

BTW is it me or do skyline only turn heads for the male gender, ok some woman too but nothing compared to my little TOYOTA MR2 :-) PEACE!

farizio - yes you are mistaken, surely I'd remember his scary looking Supra with a turbo the size of a low cost house!

Anyways, I remember once I went for dinner at Mandarin Oriental and parked in the basement. No problems going down into the basement but when I wanted to leave the parking attendant had to help me REVERSE up the ramp all the way out hahahah

he doesnt always drive around in his supra laa...

that night he came in the FC i think

You got R33? No wonder....

All your definitions will fit R32 GTR very closely, much closer than Supra.

I had 2 R33s, perfect for older gentleman or family man like me :rofl::rofl:

he he very funny... i've sat in both 32's and 34's too no sporto feeling, just big ASS peeing feeling only LOL

but in all seriousness you have to own a car like the Supra, MR2, NSX, 350z, RX7 etc to know what i mean... HEY i'm not knocking anyone here, i'm just expressing a personal feeling (gotta make this clear) so don't flame me k?! i'm a nice guy... =)
