Asked and was told the price of the car is abt SGD 4K....BUT there is no way we can get the car into Msia legally rite..........rite!!!!!! :blink: ;) Cost leh!? :(

is ae86 really hard to find spare parts?
wat are the spare parts tat hard to find?
wat if transplant 4age 20v silvertop, will the spare parts hard to find too?

i dun think so lar.. its more like, er.. ae86 is harder to find than its spare parts. if not why alot of ppl settle with cheaper KE70 or AE71 and swap all the parts from 86 halfcut from japanese junkyard that we treat like gold? :lol: jk..

i think 86 sparepart not hard to find lar, its so popular cuz of its cult status that there is alot of aftermarket performance part for it.

86 is an old car, near 20 year old already. so you can expect rust and chasis damage. Some 86 imported from japan are those involved in accident or use in races, sure got chasis damange one. Last i saw on those auction site is that a good condition 86 can cost as much as a new car.

American like to use 86 for drifting is that it is cheaper to repair compare to other drift car like Silvia or RX7, and there is report on 86 got body crack during drifting.

if i want to buy a 86, i won't be scared of the lack of spare part, but the lack of money to get the spare part. who know the 86 i get is in a bad condition that i need go fix every 6 month? my wallet empty lor..

not to mention that aftermarket parts can break your bank faster than car thief can brake your steering lock :lol: just kidding...

i mean.. c'mon lar.. if you want aftermarket part like.. your piston blow, you want get toda forge piston, sure you can get them easier than looking for genine part, cuz genine part if no stock have to preorder, take time again(read from australian website). toda piston can cost more than the money you pay for that 4ag 20v halfcut..

becoz after put in 4age20v, if anything happen only look for 4age20v parts will it be more available and cheaper than 4age?

somehow i find less parts for 4ag20v compare to standard big port 4age in 86, probably 20v is the refined version of the 16v 4ag, then less can be done to improve it, thus less parts.
