K20A kakis Head Count (EP3 or DC5)

Alan: you gotta forward me those cool web-sites you go to ..... not the porno ones, but the ones which gave birth to your monster :)

Felix: yeah, actually I am planning to , cause i'm sick and tired of the marked up prices the tuners in Penang are charging.

I figure, i'll get the goods from the source instead.

Bro when your R coming? You book in KL?

18" damn heavy. definetely lost some WHP and respond. But what makes up for it is the wide and sticky tires for faster cornering speed.

If and only if, you want to change your rims to 17" then sell me your 18" tires. Otherwise, i will also probably change to 17" when my tires botak. :nurse:

Hmm...then u mean 18" is way too big to fit in FD2R??I also got tis feeling u know.Last time my EP3 using 17",i also felt kinda heavy until i change to GramLights 57F.So,i think it can b solve by buying 18" Rays TE37??:hmmmm:

I know someone that had change to 18" Rays RE30 already. Lighter but i still think the 17" would be even lighter. If i can get back RE070 in 17" maybe like 225/40/17 or 235/40/17 (i think wrx std), i might consider 17".

Hi Honda gurus,

If you don't mind, can anyone who is familiar with the DC5r please tell me what the normal idling rpm at parking is supposed to be like? My 2-month old DC5r is teetering on 1-1.2k at start-up. I want to take it for a longer run but geez my area here now hardcore construction, I don't want to take unnecessary risks like running into some supersized nails or the like. I would really appreciate any help on the matter.

Cheers!

Civic-R:

Hi, which part of my question confuses you? The concept of idling or what I want answered? :hmmmm: Let me try to rephrase. Basically I want to know whether a 1-1.2k rpm level is an acceptable range during engine 'warm-up'.

Cheers!

If ur DC5 is stock (no modification),1k-1.2k rpm shud consider normal during start up.My bro DC5 last time also also same like urs but after modify, even higher.:itsme:

yo yo yo !!!! :D

lix - 18 is not an issue i strongly feel more traction with the 18's, the fd2 has higher torque compare to the older k20a.... :) stock vs stock, fd2 wins hands down ! comfirm!!!! choped and signed ! hahahaha

chris - yer...would be good as i can see my dai kor is getting busy with alot alot of new dc5, ep3 cl7 as well as fd2 owners reporting in...the contact list is definitely alot, a supportive outing should guarantee at least 15-20 Rs... :D very very interestingggggggggggg......cant wait !!!!!!

svelte2 - cold start is normal like what you stated....nothing to worry about. Mine usually hits close to 2k.....bah~

vaga - mah biatch...........where have you been?

gary - oi, dont "dive", come out ! ehehehe

oh ya, svetle2, just in case if ya interested in our TT session, PM me your contact ad i'll let you know where and when we meet.. :D

@ Civic-R, yurigtr, shiroitenshi

Hey you guys, thank you for paying attention and responding to my 'little' dilemma (most would brand it insignificant) especially shiro-san for that magazine-article-worthy write-up which imho would shame some of the self proclaimed "Q and A" experts in our local publications into looking like novices ;-). Yuri, really appreciate you extending an invite to me. By all means hit me with a PM about the details please. Is it a formal car-club gathering or just a healthy blend of Honda enthusiasts? Either way, I'm up for it.

Alan : How ru lately bro?Me busy wit collecting company payments. My ride will reach soon.Wait, wait & wait....:hmmmm:

Svelte2 : No prob le.Just sharing info on Type R among each other...

By the way,Gary called me last week discussing wit me bout the 17' & 18' tyre size issue. So i think bout it & make my comments to him.

Svelte2:
My DC5 cold starts at 1700+ rpm , and slowly warms up to 790-800 rpm.

Chris:
Mate, thanks for the info sent to my email, i'll have to give it some thought, will let you know the decision at later date :)
