Glad to find a forum dedicated to rottary engines Malaysia. I m a noob at this but I m interested to purchase a RX7 FC3S.

I hope the taikors/experts/gurus/senior RX7 owner would shed some lights on :

1) Where should Ibe looking for a FC3S in KL/Malaysia ?
2) What is the Market Value of this car ? (from RM? to RM?)
3) What things in particular that i should take notice when viewing this car ?

A big thanks in advance for all the advice and if by any chance any gentlemen/ladies here would have a FC3S that he/she would like to sell please pm me with details.

Thanks and wish you all a pleasant day ahead.

Come to our rotary meeting... i'll be easier to address all your questions there. All enthusiasts are welcome. :tee:

hehe no Rotary car can go Rotary meeting ka ? Where and when will be the next one ar joe13 ?

No one can point me to a place where FC3S is available ? I have been looking for a few months now but my hunt seems to be unfruitful. Really Hope to get some pointers here.

I can try to help out with answering question 3)

It's tricky to find a decent FC these days. As with any ageing car, check the general condition, rust (engine bay too), leaks (shocks/engine bay area etc), note the km's travelled and last rebuild, the turbo (typical lifespan of 120,000kms), check if the car blows any smoke (at cold and normal engine temp) , check power after 3500 (check secondary injectors), check if idiot lights come up randomly (may need to resolder some circuits here and there), check the brakes for air in the system (does it brake well?), check for smoothness of acceleration (rev that biatch!), check the colour of the coolant (check for rusty colour esp), ask if oil metering pump (OMP) is still attached, check the wipers (common problem with FC's, only 1 wiper speed), check out the gearbox (shift nicely? changed oil?)

And check tire condition, if lowered, see that it's professionally done, wheel align/balance, bushes, shocks, hoses (gets pretty hot under a rota engine bay, the hoses tend to get hard and brittle over time), car service history... blah blah blah...

If you can, try to go for a series 5. They have many improvements over a series 4. Such as electric OMP, larger turbo housing and wastegate flap for turbo, better looking lights and front bumper, aluminium bonnets (as opposed to heavy steel), anti-flood system (flooding = common problem where engine floods with enough petrol to saturate the spark plugs upon turning rotary engine off in older RX's. don't worry, there is a way to unflood it :), stronger rotors, nicer black interior with nicer front seats, and a few others i can't remember now.

Try to look for one with the basic mods done to it: Air filter, Exhaust
Cats on these cars are the main downfall with rotary engines, cause of the excessive heat, so a nice 3" on a turbo will help it nicely ;)
But don't worry too much about modifications, just worry about the condition of the car. No point getting a nicely modded car that's about to die cause of years of mistreatment.

sorry if i put you to sleep ;p
