How much the petrol consumption for this car roughly? From KL to JB how much petrol cost if drive around 110km/j to 130km/j. I,m interested about EVO but ppl said it kuat minyak. Any EVOrian can reply honestly?
 
ya is kuat makan minyak.. the tank is small i think around 100 for vpower racing is full tank
i din calulate...how much is can go like rm10 for how many km i know is i use to pump 80 v power racing .. i stay at ampang .. go one u and come back .. hah from full is half
err is depends if u didnt boost ur car .. is very safe
if u boost it haha ... u boost ur petrol too and ur pocket.. mine is mainly stock onli the exhaust have change...

Ur explaination not very clear. About the fuel consumption,.. How far u go or how long u travell until ur full tank become half? Can u explain detail. I plan to buy this very soon. Any suggestion?

Every car's fuel consumption is different from each other, it's all depend on driver. If u boost it every minute of coz the FC is SUPER high. but u drive slowly it just like a normal n/a car. but will u drive slowly on an EVO? haha....so it was just an advice to tell u that u don boost so much, if not FC sure high.
 
Zakiest....if you wanna buy this car...then you must not worry bout the fuel...cause i dont think there are many EVO users out there that dont boost...sure gian one...if you are looking for something economical....then this is not the car you want.
 
ok bro zakiest... i just clock it ... i get nearly 300km with a full tank with v power racing petrol.. and i can say i boost 40% with that tank..
didint really boast... and btw i agree with everybody out there.... no 1 buy evo wont boost u will hate it bcoz it has turbo lag.. but u boost is have HIgh FC so .. use as a weekend car... or seldom drive it.. my advise.... .. if who buy an evo .. is for sure high FC edi..
 
300km for full tank. Meaning that from KL to JB, need to stop at Pagoh for fill up tank again... What do u mean u boost 40% with that tank. I never have friend with turbo car to explain this. Can brother explain. I think VTEC DOHC Type R more save petrol. Am I right.

if u use vtec to rev high also makan minyak 1, same same 1 lah, the only different between n/a n turbo is n/a power comes late, turbo power comes early. boost mean the turbine starts to work, that means power is coming, when u release the accelerator then u will hear the blow off sound "pisss........", that is called boost. but u can set how many rpm to make the turbine works.

turbo car maintenance is much higher becoz it has a lot more things, it's fun to drive a turbo car becoz u can really feel that it is very powerful, but it has turbo lag, if u rev it 2 high, the power will drop.

n/a car needs to rev very high if u wan power, but it has no lag, so u can maintain the rpm at high lvl. so if compare n/a n turbo, n/a has better top speed and turbo has better pickup.

Dude...might have mad some mistakes here. Turbo power comes in late due to the turbo lag where you have to get the turbine running at a certain rpm before you feel the boost. Meaning that if you use a big ass turbine and boosting only occurs at say 5000rpm and you are on 5th gear running at 2.5krpm and you decide to accelerate withouth droping gears....then you gonna accelerate slowly till the point of boosting (5000rpm) and that is when you will feel the power. The piss sound that you hear is from blowoff working not boosting. Its actually all the additional preasure being generated from the turbine thats still spinning fast and you have to bleed this preasure. Thats the piss.....sound you hear. On turbo lag...its means that the turbo only works at certain rpms....so it doesnt mean that if you rev it too high you will lose power...it depends on your turbine and boost settings. Double clutching helps turbo lag. N/a car doesnt have to rev very high if you want power. It depends on the torque it has....most n/a cars have torque in the low regions for better pickup but tend to lose out on its top speed. So hard to say lah n/a top speed and turbo pickup...its depends on a lotta factors.. If i made any mistakes with my explaination, please correct me. Thanks.
 
ya bro zakiest.. NA car save more fuel.. haha... meaning i don go over 3000 rpm.. around 1 plus i change gear ma... for my car.. my boost come in around 3000rpm.. before that is just ur engine ... so udon boost the car la.. around 1 or 2 then u change gear edi le.. just a cruise driving le
 
about ur blow off is excatly true.. is not ur turbo actually.. is the pressure that u compress and release it to the atmosphere... is not nessarcy ahve to drive it to release the sound... just have the enough pressure and it can release the sound.... the piss sound is u change to the aftermarket blow off like SSQV or blow off tyre RS... stock also u already have blow off.... about na and turbo.. is actually depends.. if u compare stock.. is for sure turbo have the advantage in top sped and pick up but lose on low end torque.. bcoz turbo kick in around 3000rpm and above.. if u mod ... then is see le.. when for turbo is more susah... the more u mod the more turbo lag u have.. for example u change intercooler piping to hks tyre R and with piping.. ur turbo will lag and kick in around 3800rpm.. but with better intercooler u will ahve better HP and respon... so in shortu have to sacrifice something to gain something... the nore u change the more lag.. yea is true u change to a bigger turbo the more lag u will ahve ... sometime u can do until u totally lose ur torque but all to power... thats is why ppl mod their engine.. chamshaft, campulley, stroker kit, vavle spring... the main reason is to support... ur turbo lag to minimize it and to support the big turbo too .. with this u must nede a very good boost controller and a good ecu.. haa ultimate ecu like motec m800..... but how oso u cant minimize it .. le .. evne u completly rebuilt ur engine to around 500 whp on whell. ur turbo willkick in around 4000rpm..... im not very sure about na but i think it can be set to..

i had driven a turbo car before, but my explaination mayb was not good enough, i know the piss sound doesn't mean boost, but if u boost, then release the accelerator, definitely u'll hear the piss sound rite?

y turbo car is not good in pickup? do u think that a high torque n/a car can win a turbo car in pickup? normally na/a dohc car max torque comes after 4k rpm, max hp comes after 5k rpm, and top speed is depending on HP, if u don rev it high, how do u get the max Torque and HP?

if n/a n turbo car having the same HP, compete in top speed, definitely turbo car will suffer a lot.
 
[email protected] ur facts right before you compare N/a and turbo lah. How can you generalise n/a dohc's power and torque characteristics? Not all cars have the same characteristics. If i put a n/a car with 300bhp and 400nm vs a turbo with 300bhp and 400nm which one will win pecut and top speed?? Cannot say...depends where the power and torque comes. NA or turbo....its all depends on power/torque...please dont generalise cars by rpm.
 
so just make it simple and easy, now zakiest is comparing evo8 n v-tec dohc type r, u can just go straight to his question.
