Osren velvet pad: your thoughts plz...

Hi again friends

I'd like to have your views on the above vs wetsanding.

As up till now, i've only wetsanded to remove orange peel. not used any velvet pad.
Not available here as are most detailing products.

My concern is not this car though. the car is sold now.
one guy came to see me.
He's got a silver Honda civic RS. He's got one panel that has been resprayed
but it has got orange peel and at the same time some paint bubbles.
The paint while good looking is not flat for a reflective finish. This is what he wants to get.


Unfotunately I couldn't capture the paint bubbles. I got only one pic:

Given Honda being known for super soft paint, what about using the Osren velvet pad instead of wetsanding to flatten the paint?
I've seen that you have got excellent results levelling the paint surface. what would you advise?

Is it that less clear is removed using the Osren velevet pad? or it is flatter and more uniform than wetsanding?
what do you advise?
Is it advisable that I get the Osren velvet pads and the accompanying compound?


Also any tips on paint chip repair would be most appreciated.

Let me just put it this way....imagine the velvet pad as a shotgun and normal wet sanding as a rifle. Both can achieve the same but the velvet pad would leave more mess to clean up afterwards - requires the whole steps starting back from compounding, etc. to remove the leveling marks. I'm in the opinion that the velvet pads would be useful for bodyshops or repainted panels and wet sanding would be better for the more delicate OEM/original paint.
