Police Rules Tips & Summons Prices - ZTH VERSION

im abit worried of my tinted window because i tinted 1 more layer on it, so a total of 2 layers of tint on my car, just wondering if kena road block, roughly how much fine do i get..?

has anyone got saman for HID at roadblock before?
do i need to go before a magistrate ?
any jpj branch also can ?

Was given summons for HID at KLIA.

Went to workshop, took out HID, go JPJ Klang, went for JPJ inspection (not PUSPAKOM inspection. Eventhough PUSPAKOM is next to JPJ, JPJ oso has it's own inspection lanes). JPJ guy check lights, check engine block number using chemical, ask why my car got so many modifications, and then passed it. Paid summons at counter, I think RM150 or RM200 if not mistaken...

have u been stopped by traffic police at a road block for not using ur seatbelt after being spotted by a hiding police officer? well, i went thru this before and i was lucky enough to get away with it. how?

like this: was driving in JB without using my seatbelt. at a junction, a traffic police was standing and saw both me and my wife not using our belts. luckily, i saw him and i knew there is a road block in front. both of us quickly used our belts. true enough, there was a road block and was stopped. drove to the side and waited for another officer to come. he came, i brought down my window. he asked whether i know what was my offence. i said i dont know with an innocent look. haha. he said we werent using our belts. i denied. so did my wife. we denied it. he confirmed with the officer who spotted us with his walkie talkie. confirmed we were not using belts. we denied all along. he said ok, pretended to write something and said that i will have to go to court. i, again, like an innocent, blur case guy, asked him why should i go to court? he said cuz i'm denying my offence. i said ok. i knew there was no way he can bring me to court for this. so, i played along. i asked again like an innocent, dunno anything guy, what should i do in the court, how is the procedure like, which court n so on. he still pretended as if he was writing something. then, he said nevermind. i can go. i wasnt sattisfied, wanted to play more. so i asked again, what bout the court, how and when should i go n so on. hehe. he said no need to go to court. he's letting me go with amaran terakhir. i said terima kasih tuan and drove off. hehe.

so, next time if u r in a similar situation, u know what to do. hope it works for u as well. but one thing i learned was to remind myself to use my seatbelt all the time. unfortunately, at times i still forget but lucky not caught again.

this is just my experince and my luck of getting away without any problems. might not work all the time. guess my wife and i were good in acting or the officer was a nice guy. so dont get angry if it doesnt work for u.

cheers!!

during the last holiday i was heading to Taiping on NSE. Just before the Changkat Jering exit, where i'm supposed to exit, there was a road block by the police. the road block caused a massive jam. i knew i was gonna be stopped because i was speeding all the way. eventually, i was stopped and i pulled to the side. but u know i stopped at post, he looked at my plate, looked back at his piece of paper and told me to stop at the side. so quickly he spotted my car reg. no. on a paper he was holding. noticed all big cars. no saga, no myvi, no kancil, no waja. i saw mercs, bimmers, hondas, camry's and so on. the bigger cars. the number of cars stopped were easily more than 15 at that time with only about 4 or 5 policemen. so i had to wait. this gave me time to think n react. i quickly gave all my RM50's to my wife to keep. only had bout 60 bucks left in my wallet. i was thinking how come so quickly that guy can spot my car reg no in that list. i felt that it was not right. a policeman came, wound down my window. gave him my ic n license. he said i was speeding. i asked where. he said in Ipoh turun bukit. speed limit 80kmh. as usual, he pretended like he was writing something in his summon book. i quickly admitted and said i didnt realise the limit was 80kmh there. i said sorry la i didnt know. he said the summon for speeding is rm300. i said no money. i opened my wallet and showed him. he said "bagi 5"(he meant 50 bucks i guess). i told him i got no money. need to pay toll. how? i asked. he said jalan. i said terima kasih encik n i jalan.

i just feel that the whole road block thing was not real. all they wanted was money i guess. it was deepavali eve and they prolly knew many would fall for their trap. if it was for real, summon me since i cant pay the 50 bucks bribe. why let me go? maybe he was a nice and understanding guy. maybe he let me go cuz i said no money and at the same time he saw a bigger car that was stopped after me. hoping to get money from that driver. i dont know la. these police, not all of course, are not good fellows after all.

recently i read in the papers, 7 policemen were arrested for misusing their power in roadblocks and extorting money from drivers. so when things like this happen, how to have faith in police?

anyway, it was another lucky escape for me. guess that by saying sorry, showing ur pitiful face and telling sad stories work. policemen are understanding, no doubt about that. my advice is to do this, if it doesnt work, just ask for the summon. dont bribe them. i'll nvr bribe police. for all u know, it might just be a trap. and for trying to save a few hundred bucks, u pay a fine, go to jail, and the embarassment is the worst not only for u but ur family as well.

So, JANGAN RASUAH.

i also would like to know, driving bigger cars make u more vulnerable to be stopped by police right?

Haha this place very hot for them to cari makan. They will stop both side of the highway and yes, the look at cars before stopping you. I was pulled over and this young chap with sunglasses approach me and ask me to hand over my IC and Driver's license. Check his 'list' and went front and back. Came to my window and asked me where I came from. I said from KL as I was heading up north to Penang. Said I was speeding and I said where? He said after the Ipoh tunnel downhill. He said I was doing 96km/h on an 80 limit area. I said cannot be I ikut speed limit ma. He said dah tangkap. So I just asked him to hand over summon. He consulted his superior and ask me not to speed after this.
Hmmm I have encountered so many of these road block and most of the time they will stop me. I will normally behave but will break some rules on the hilly areas. When he told me that I was doing 96 on an 80 area I was thinking that cannot be cos I was like at least 130-140 so they were trying their luck with me. Moral of the story? Don't admit when you get pull over. Ask them to issue you the summons or post it. They will normally say that they will post you the summon if you plead your innocence.

oic. thanks for informing. will be careful next time. do they always have a road block just before Changkat Jering exit or they have it at other places as well?

Not always and there is timing as well. Normally morning. One more is near the exit to Cameron highlands one. Don't remember what exit. Very straight road. One more hot spot if you are going up north is just before exit to tambun, Penang.

Alright, got that. Guess we just have to keep to the limits of our CARS(not 110kmh) and deny that we were speeding.

Whatever it is don't buy into their BS saying you were speeding at where by how fast cos most of the time we are warned by oncoming vehicles so we will be able to slow down on time. The genuine road blocks are few. If stopped by the pocket money type you will see a lot of cars being stopped and the type or cars paints the picture of what kind of cop are they. Even they say dah tangkap you just asked for the summon. They will normally let you go.
