I Afzan Helmy a student from Yamaha music center in year 1995 - early 1998 major in classical guitar.
A junior Yamaha Philharmonic Orchestra member for 2 years in 1996 and 1997 and performed for APEC * Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation * infront of the first lady from all over the world.
A classical guitar tutor for beginner student in Perth Australia in Feb 1998 - mid 2001.
............ Now, i want to start my classical guitar part time class for BEGINNERS student.
Hourly class, private lesson at my house one to one *home class*.
The skills you'll practice in these lessons are:
* Use of the right hand fingers (including the thumb) correctly
* Alternating "i.m." fingers. If you use alternating fingers rather than just play with the one repeating finger your tone and overall sound will be much better. It is a most common mistake of beginning players to use one finger and you need to be aware of WHAT you are doing WHEN you are doing it to make it a good habit.
* Using a combination of "open" (no fingers of left hand used) and closed (left hand fingers employed) strings
* Apoyando (rest stroke)
* Tirando (rest stroke)
* Using the thumb of the right hand to play bass line melodies
* Developing more speed and fluency
* Developing good habits from the start
* Developing your reading of music notation and guitar tablature
* Counting beats and rhythms, including tied notes and developing musical awareness
* Developing the ability to play musically using legato (smooth and connected playing), staccato (short and detached notes), basic harmonics and develop your dynamic range (soft to loud).
and the lesson continues from yucky to yummy, from D'oh to Ooooo and from Adam Sandler to Jason Mraz.....
Location kelana jaya.
Private home 1 to 1 session.
RM100 per hour 4 times a month minimum.

p/s: - Some might say that my price is kinda pricey... Please take note that most outside classes usually charge RM50 to 80 for half hour ONLY... and its a standard price for private home tutoring of RM150 per hour. Am charging RM100 per hour. How many sessions you want to take per month its up to you... but i suggest 4 times a month once a week standard. Cheers.
