ECU setting may not be cleared just removing the -ve terminal. You may need to leave it overnight. Some ecu won't reset unless you manually push / screw the switch.

I have de-cat my car four 4 years so far during diagnostic scan, no codes or whatsoever were found. However, something wierd happened to my car . it goes faster !!! hahaha!!
