Yes, exactly why having both mechanical and hydraulic can be a good thing. I did it more because I had to to keep my car legal for road use.

demuire... whats the usage of the hydraulic handbrake to you? do u use
it for drifting? if yes, can you let me know how is the feel like? Like modulation,
braking feel, locking action in relation to drift engagement ... All the while I've
been using my normal handbrake & I can fully feel my modulation & master
it well for drift engagement... I just want to know your hydraulic handbrake
feels for you.

sexycar: no, I use it for motorkhana and for rally. Handbrakes are for locking up wheels, and the hydraulic handbrake does that very well. Very little force required (can lock up wheels using 2 fingers), and no problems with stretching handbrake cables etc. Also no worries about having to disable the handbrake button or anything like that.

No, any sort of brakes will work.

to be more precise: any type of brakes (drum or disc) that uses hyraulic system will work with the hydraulic handbrake
