Sound cut off??? no idea how it happend.

The 2 cable have same function 1 laa... centre control unit switch.. The older HU share this cable (they call it antena lead... if I not mistaken loorr) but now all HU c/w separate cable for better control & to minimise the trouble shooting cause by car electrical itself ..

wah..10 sec to read cd? erm...lolz...

Guys, this is my noobie opinion.
Most recent HU has 2 remote output. One for antenna and one for remote turn on right? My assumption is that the antenna remote only supply power when you use radio ( I might be wrong ). The remote turn on supply power when you turn on the HU.
Reason for a relay on the remote turn on is to protect your HU remote turn on circuitry. Some amps might draw a lot of current during operation. Some does too if somehow they becom shorted. The high current draw will damage the internal circuitry of your HU (at least on the remote turn on side ). That's why a relay is used. Some relay just need as much as 1 amp to turn on.
Another reason is, you might have additional acc that you want to turn on with the remote turn on from the HU. What if you have 3 amps, 2 E X-over, a parametric EQ some neon lights? this will surely will draw a lot of current from the HU remote turn on lead.

Regarding the original post, does your amp has a thermal protection circuitry? Since you say normally morning is OK. I am assuming that you parked your car under the hot sun.

I hope this helps.

guys, i just change back my alpine unit. Now the 'sound off' problem not occur d. they installer didnt do anything, just follow normal porcedure to exchange 2 units, he said might be the wiring problem. So,until now,i also no idea how come panasonic HU got this problem at my car.

p/s: im looking for custome made rear speaker 'papan',any idea and roughly how much?

yeah! I am using 7800 too! Freaking LOOOOONG to wait to read MP3 Cds man.... But the good thing is that got MP3 search function whereas i compared to a few others, there is no search function. Anyway, dunno about newer MP3 models now...

I have think about this issues before, coz most of the time happend at noon and evening. But, now the problem no longer exist. where to check thermal protection circuitry?many thanks...

Most of the amp nowadys got this thermal protection to prevent certain eletronic part from melted. Higher end amps can last longer and sometimes the amp will become very hot, put a wet cloth, steam also can comes out. If lower end, sure they can last long and will cut off earlier. Sometimes wire used also will contribute, like a big amp you use a small power wire for it, this will cause the amp to become hot also.
