starting engine with clucth engage

nope... should be alrite ...but i think it'll incur more wear and tear on yer clutch (correct me if i'm wrong guys)...

all US cars has to engage the clutch before it starts is a security feature against propelling the car when gear might already been engaged. mostly all new cars have this feature as standard startup procedure.

I think we shuldn't engage the cluth first right? That was taught in driving school wasn't it? hahahaa.. I don't remember, long ago..

yeap..read the RPG book until book 25.

so anyway..so izzit a security stuff..i alway engage clutch even the gear is already free before i start engine..good or bad ar?

that's a good habit. it'll make sure u wont accidentally start ur car and rammed into the porch, or housewall or into other car in front.

literally there will be wear. nothing to worry though.

Its a good habit i must say if u mean depressing the clutch pedal..

1. It will be good for security, some time accidently engage in gear..
2. Easier starting, u will reduce the spun up weight.. depressing clutch means that shafts in ur gear box will not spin togeter.
3. Should leads to longer life for ur starter.

U will not wear your clutch, u depress already the pedal so clutch plate will not touch fly wheel liau..

many new car, even korean and japnese cars already have the clutch cut off switch so you can only engage the starter with the clutch depressed.

it's not mean for security reason, but safety.

like what tajulsans posted,
This is to prevent you to start the car with the an engaged gear,

Imagine your kids standing at the front of your car waving to you, saying "Bye bye, daddy/mummy, don't forget to come back earlier and so we have dinner tonight ya".
and you start your car with 1st gear engaged, BANG. There goes another sad story. (some driver even have the habit to press the fuel pedal light while starting the car)

1st Generation of Hyundai Coupe already have this.

the draw back is that, you won't able to start your car if the sensor spoiled.

if i'm not mistaken, in perodua manual for my kelisa also stated that we should press the clutch first, then turn on the ignition..

it is good practise for engage clutch before start...

but for me...i usually start my car n wait it warm up 1st.....then only i go in n drive....

got turbo timer ma....so d car must at free gear one......
