Greeting all Bros, I'll view a RX-7 FC3S series ( Mark 5 ) track car after CNY . . What must i look forward when I'll be owning it such as what are the details i must carefully look at when i do inspect the car?
As a common sense, asking from an experienced owner is more useful than asking without any direction. That's why i post here. Waiting for reply.....
Best Regards

Track car???

May I assume you are buying this car solely for track use?

the more importnat questions here are... are you going to be using this track car for sanctioned races? as in MSS or MME or any so called FIA regulation races?
if you are you should really look thru the rule books first to make sure that the car complies to those regulations.. or you might end up with a hefty bill to rectify the car and bring it back up to regulation spec...

if its for a weekend thrash around... you need not be that worried... just the usual stuff... find out if the car is a 'joined' car.. if so.. make sure that its done properly and that they have reinforced the areas.. if its not a joined car... make sure its not stolen... make sure you have all the documents... if its a race import... make sure you have a valid race AP.. if the AP is expired.. find out how to fix it... and how much...

while you're at it... make sure the engine has compression in all 3 chambers!

Please refer to the FAQ nicely stickied to the top of this forum section.

It gives you the basics of what to look for in a car.

You did not mention what engine though.

Nice info, by the way... If not purchase a unit that is in-house Malaysia, is it possible to import by my own from Japan? It is not possible if for daily drive on street, but if for track use only = possible=?? What r the procedures in details if possible...? :burnout:

Bump: Dear Savahn, its a 13b-DEI Turbo Rotary powered vehicle. It does not meant to meet regulation in races held .. It's for weekend "hardwork" only. Hehe

Is it possible to import from Japan = yes

for track only = you need a racing AP or some such thing - the car cannot be legally driven on street

As for your weekend hardwork, unless you are rich and can afford regular rebuilds, this is not recommended. Since you do not know the condition of the engine as of now, its going to be difficut to say if this is a good idea.

Who is the seller and who maintains the car?

Savahn bro, what are the procedures to import from Japan for track use? Teach me ah, i am more interested to import instead of buying in-house... Hehe :help: I deeply appreciate ur efforts..
