Tyres for Myvi - Please recommend

Change tyre size but maintain same rims....
Meaning if original is 175, and want to use 185 size, the series (aspect ratio) or sidewall height have to use lower to get as close as possible the overall diameter, therefore from 175/65R14 to 185/60R14. If use 185/65R14 the overall diameter is much bigger.
175/65R14 - 583mm
185/60R14 - 578mm - smaller by 0.9% (This is closer)
185/65R14 - 596mm - bigger by 2.2%

I dint know that this is possible! But the 175 and 185 are the width right? How does 185 fit nicely on rims meant for 175? If 185 is fit in, does the overall area surface contact increases too?

Oh! you were more worried of the rim width. Usually upgrade 10mm in not a problem as the rim width is usable for various width. If upgrade 20mm, then got to calculate to see if the rims fit.

For example 175/65R14 can use rims from 4.5 to 6"
185/60R14 - 5 to 7"
185/65R14 - 5 to 6.5"

Not sure of exact width, but Myvi rims should be 5 or 5.5" therefore can fit all 3 sizes

If compared Michelin to Conti CC5'

Michelin XM2 is slightly better

But that doesnt mean that Conti CC5 is not good...

Michelin is softer, while Conti is slightly harder, thus delivers more mileage than Michelin...

On quietness, I think both almost the same low noise level....

On grip, I think Michelin is slightly better, both wet & dry...

XM2 treadwear is at 460 if not wrong. but surely above 400.

To me, I find that XM2 is bank for buck, u will not regret getting XM2, it has less rolling resistance which in return
gives 20% more mileage than other leading competitors as stated.

Is also more fuel saving and have faster water evacuation. Which I tried, lower risk in hydroplanning which is why
is good in dry and wet.

Saves Fuel, 20% more mileage, and comfortable. Safety was never compromised with its new technology. Quiet as well.
Used on my BLM if compared, when using Silverstone and XM2, I gain more mileage on XM2.

Even on my Altis is using XM2 as well. FC to genting was better than Falken ZE912. Grip I would say safe enough to
make sure your car don't skid (don't push it though)

It depends. Are you looking at the UHP range? If yes Continental contact sport (CSC5) doesn't come in 15" size. Their lower range tyres are all pretty decent la. Not great but not as bad as some chinese/indonedian brand tyres.

Michelin is an established brand and is famous for their softer compound tyres which usually equates to good grip. But unfortunately they are next to Pirelli the 2nd most expensive brand you can buy out there. Even their midrange tyres are expensive in comparison to Goodyear, Yokohama and all. For their XM2 range it's pretty decent for average use. Use it on track and expect your car to be sliding all over the place after a few laps. But for daily city driving it's pretty good.

But for the same money (actually less..) I'd go for the Yokohama C-drive2. Bang for buck and has great water displacing properties. Not as good as Michelin PS3 or Goodyear Eagle F1 but it's good in its own right.

50 series, less body roll, handling greatly improved. 15", more tyre choice especially have High performance pattern, traction and handling improve further....
Cons is slightly more bumpy ride, more expensive tyres, but the pros can cover all these cons....:proud:

Alza tyre size I think is 185/55R15, probably can try fitting 195/55R15 as this size have more choices.
If into performance then tyres like Michelin PS3, GY F1 D5, Hankook V12 Evo. Mid level Yoko C-Drive 2. Conti CPC2, Entry level XM2, Conti CC5, so a lot to choose from depending on your priorities and budget...

Ya, I realised that after using XM2 at 1st no rasa. But the grip was good even though
at 1 time my tyre thread left about 30% only.

I checked out the 185/60R14 XM2, only got 2 straight grooves for water channeling. Like that I prefer the C-Drive 2 got 4 grooves.....

The CC5 will waver on wet surface, and doesn't track as well. It really does not inspire confidence. For stock tyre size, currently the XM2 is the best tyre you can buy.

How much is the XM2 in 185/60R14 size? Heard is around RM200 per pc.....not cheap for 14"

For smaller and lighter cars I think XM2 is more suitable...

For bigger and heavier cars, I think CC5 is very kau kau suitable...

In this case for Myvi, better choice is XM2 !
