it is a body casis kaaa...??:X-:

lesson #743925734: always tell the people trying to jack your car specifically WHERE to jack.

there's a reason why they have the pieces sticking out of the chassis for the jacks.

lesson #490254890: Don't lower your car to the extreme, it makes it hard to jack the car up, then people will choose a random point to jack your car.

lesson #349507234: Don't send your car to a workshop where they have NO IDEA what they are doing.

hehe.. from the book of

"Shiro's 1,000,000,000's Opps before learning something".. :P

short of changing it, maybe a 'ketok body' shop can reshape it so it doesn't scrape (if it is scraping)

Don't exactly remember 100%, but if I'm not wrong, that piece is bolted on, and is a seperate piece from the chassis, so replacing it is also an option.. if you're that particular.

Also a good excuse to locate those aluminium replacement parts from US.. I think a company called A-spec Racing makes them. Billet CNC.. Yummy! :P

Too bad they're trying to charge me $80USD for shipping and handling, which is like 45% of the price of the thing!

Hi Bro,

That part is welded to ur car chassis. Da only way to remove is by unweld it frm da chassis itself. Alot of work is involve in unwelding that. Most panel beaters (Magat low in cantonese) wont do it 4 u. And if they do they will charge u an arm n a leg. And further to that, JPJ will consider illegal to unweld any part from ur car chassis and weld it back.

So da only thing u can do is to knock it back out. Cheerio.

eh? I thought it was bolted on.. like the front part steering rack. Still, I've never bothered to tinker with it yet, so you might be right.

Wat is dat part lower arm body callled? dat u kena?
can u replace it with an alloy type?
I notice there are lot of wira cars are using an alloy type?

how much this prices [ASR] .............?

Last I checked it was USD176, excluding USD80 for S&H. (could be cheaper, I think the USD80 S&H included the cost of shipping the lower control arms.

Then you have to contend with taxes, which is about 30%.

If you order direct from overseas, you can ask the retailer about marking down the price on the receipt for less tax.

The lower control arms (LCA) are nice, but you need to use DC2 suspension if I'm not wrong, since the struts need to have lower U-shaped mounts as opposed to the original EG which is just an eyelet type mount. Not too sure about the LCAs, so you should mail the fellas and ask if the stock LCA can be used with the A-Spec Racing [ASR] rear suspension arm mount.

Personally I felt like ordering one for myself... but I'm knee deep in saving up for a B20B conversion ATM. :P

If you have friend over there, ask them to send it as a 'gift' (wrap it lah!). It's tax exempted that way.

The wira one is just a simple bar (like a ruler) that ties two ends of the LCA(lower control arms) together. It doesn't replace the rear suspension frame.

There's aftermarket parts like that for honda too.. but it's only for cosmetic purposes.

You mean it dun serve a perf. of handling???
I tot it was for the sort of stablize the lower wobble of the car???

Try bend the thing with your hands (and your knee) and you'll see what I mean.

shiro,

tat ruler thing is called REAR LOWER TIE BAR ler......

and it's NOT for cosmetic purposes....

furthermore, it's not meant to work in the direction where u bend it, front n back, it's meant to be pulled sideways....

rear lower tie bar increases your vehicle's torsional rigidity by bracing the rear lower control arm sheetmetal mounting points.

By connecting the suspension points with a rear lower tie bar, the chassis' rigidity and handling characteristics are improved while distortion under hard cornering is prevented

so do u understand the function of the bar now? haha.....
