juz wanna ask a noob question... ae92 n ae101 sc ecu cannot swap like that onli
meh?? whats the diff with that 2 models? map sensor with map sensor, afm with
afm rite??

AE92 S/C (MAP) and AE101 S/C ECU has very close similarlity and yes it is posibility to run AE92 S/C (MAP) ECU in AE101. But since AE92's ECU doesn't has the EVP control pin like 101's so you need to mod your 101's evaporation system as according to 92's design (mechnism type). Power wise, 92's S/C (MAP) has 165HP and 101's S/C has 170HP, thus theoritically you can get very close performance if running 92's ECU in your 101.
However, you have to modify either the 92's ECU's pin (internally) our your 101's wiring if you want to run this combination.

Price for 101's ECU ranging from 500 ~ 800 depends on your luck. It has become lesser and lesser in the market coz it has reach its life spand and once it get burnt the chances to re-build this ECU is only 50% (either go or no go). If your 101 S/C ECU is still running good please get it re-build immediately and don't wait till the problem exist then only looks for the solution.

sifu levin818,

how are to know whether its time to re-build the ECU????

or how long since last re-build can the ECU last???

cheers...

p/s one TT for you!!!! heheee

does it has a due date or sumthing? i also dont wanna wait untill its kaputt
then will give me a big problem later...

~ another noob q...

Hello brothers, pls don't call me sifu le... my car don't have BEAMS or 7A block or high cam or adj sus... all stock!
As far as i am concern, the components use in 101's ECU (S/C or 20V) cannot meet the ECU's requirement. "The requirement" mean not giving any problems until you scrap the car. So far, 86's and 92's ECU doesn't give any problem till now but many of 101's starts giving problem --> due to the design calculation for 101's isn't as optimistic as '92 and '86 and some of the part started to failed after 10~15 years of service. The only way to get rid of it is to replace ALL those problem parts and by doing this way you will be able to further extend the ECU's life span for say, up to another 10 years (theoritically).
Bare in mind that the replacement parts MUST be at least same or better grade than the original parts (for automotive application) otherwise the ECU will not be able to gain back it original performance.
Unlike 20V, once 101 S/C's ECU having problem, 50% cases the main chip will die at the same time and this mean the ECU cannot be rebuild any longer. Therefore, "early treatment" is highly recomended for 101 S/C's ECU!

errrr....

sifu ar!!!! again!!!!

can sent mine for checking ar???? heheheeee....
wanting to use the ar for another 10 years....

cheers...
