did yr 1JZGTE supra ever came in single turbo in stock form? i doubt so.. coz it was never produced in that form.. neither did 2JZGTE... ;)

Late model 1JZ's came with factory single turbos in Japan. They may or may not have been in the supras, but they were in a few other cars. I assumed this also applied to the 2JZ. I think the Lexus IS300 also had a factory single turbo 2JZ, but not sure. I'm too busy at the moment to look in depth about it as I have packing to do.

BTW, nice engine, so you aren't a poser after all?

hmm.. since u dunno.. then i also dunno la... i tot 1st gen, Alteeza, AS300 uses 2JZ-GE and the 2nd gen IS300 uses the 3GR-FE... 3.0L v6.

Well, late model 1JZ's did come in a VVt-i single turbo variant.

I'll apologize about the 2JZ single turbo claim. I thought that it did come with a factory single somewhere, but can't find it anywhere.

Good to see you aren't a poser blackhowling. Too many people with mk4's tend to be posers. But when it comes time to take it the track, they can't back it up with the numbers. What's your best time on the 1/4 mile? I'm aiming at building my car up to run 11's, hopefully 10's. At the same time, I'm not going to neglect my handling either.

1/4 time? dunno... but dyno figures is there... d objective when i build the car was to achieve a certain amount of hp.. which d result was slightly below wat i planned for due to gearbox issues... nevertheless, i deem it's 80-90% of wat i set out to achieved for... track aint exactly my cup of tea... as for drag... hmm.. not sure.. never timed it before... btw, stock 2JZGE MKIVs can do 13.8 seconds on d quartermile....

2JZ's never came in that variant (single turbo) from factory, altho the 2JzGTE's are common swaps into the altezza. One of the project on my list next if i ever have enough money :) There is however a TOM's variant of that altezza called the 280T, a turbo production model by TOM's under license from toyota I think.. anyways.. its hard to find..

Ive seen MKIV's with 3SGTE's too :shocked:

blackhowling is one of the exceptional few that is genuine, ie not a poser :) One of those "land mark" cars around if you get what i mean.. And i agree with you that too many MKIV's are posers.. not just in Msia..

The 2JZ-GE is a common version. Output is 215 to 230 hp JIS (158 to 169 kW) at 5800 to 6000 rpm and 209 to 220 ft.lbf (283 to 298 Nm) of torque at 3800 to 4800 rpm.

It uses SEFI fuel injection, has an aluminum head and 4 valves per cylinder with some versions using VVT-i, along with a cast iron cylinder block.

All mk3's are wide body, except for the GA70 mk3, but it did come in a wide body shape later.

hmm.m.m... im not sure... coz i saw a MKIII ori 3.0L doesnt hav wide body... i assumed that is early model of NA MKIII...

anyhow... that front bumper does look sexy with wide body MKIII... it looks even sexier if with custom-made Xtra wide body panel... :X-:

early xJZGTE doesnt come with single turbo until the last gen, VVT-i version... and this single turbo VVT-i version doesnt factory fit into any supra coz MKIV is obsolete when these motors put on manufacturing... :mouth_closed:

The 2JZ-GTE VVTi engine is from a 1999-and-up JDM Aristo. This powerplant is growing in popularity, finding its way into Lexus cars that need a performance boost. because of issues with the gauge cluster, this swap works best in Lexus made from 1998 and on.
