Recently, just got myself a '01 GTT...

Hope I can contribute something,

Cheers,

That's a HUGEEEEEEE upgrade :driver:

great to see alot is interested.. our objective to make an independent registered skyline club. maybe some day we can have a nismo fest in sepang.. do give contact to blood red.. will come up with a meeting some day..

We need to set some deadlines or else there will never be a sense of purpose or urgency in making this happen. Honestly speaking, I have no idea what comes first so I'm hoping that V-Spec and honda6831 can help shed some light on the whole timeline of events.

Tasks
In The Next 30 Days:

1) Finalize club name, logo (if necessary), club colours, etc
2) Pro tem committee identified
3) Temporary club mailing/place of business address identified

In The Next 60 Days:

1) Club constitution and by-laws drafted, brought before pro tem committee
2) First meeting for pro tem committee to formalize the above
3) Submission of all relevant paperwork to Registrar of Societies
4) Draft tentative list of activities for the year
a. Regular activities: weekly drives, TT
b. Occasional activities: mega gathering, cruise, trip
c. Yearly activities: club track day
d. One-off activities: participation in automotive events under club banner

In The Next 100 Days:

1) Organize club merchandise – membership card, sticker, etc (TBD)
2) First membership drive - target of 40 new members not including pro tem committee
3) Virtual HQ – online portal with key info initially but in time will have forums, etc
4) Club gathering – coverage/exposure in Hypertune, Shift or Extreme Kars

Before Year End:

1) Club track day
2) Family day, overnight or weekend trip to somewhere like PD, Melaka, Desaru, etc
3) Affiliation with overseas Skyline clubs

These are just off the top off my head and are the views of one person. It goes without saying that our combined efforts should yield more ideas as well as offer different perspectives on the club's 'journey'.

Note: Attached below is what could be used to form the basis of the club's constitution or by-laws. What's highlighted in yellow needs discussing and input but that does not mean that the un-highlighted sections are in any way complete. Please take the opportunity to add your comments no matter how seemingly trivial as they could potentially influence how the club is set-up and run in the future. Please keep in mind that the club is meant to exist in perpetuity and that our involvement will one day end. Therefore, please try and anticipate the various problems or issues that may arise for future generations.

blood red jgn lupe asst monitor hehe..yeeaa finally i got my car edi after 4 months & 23 days! Need to renew roadtax first...hehe

I can see things have started to roll.
Im friends with Shin Inoue (founder of GTROC jp)
Our club could be affiliated with his.
Opportunity of hosting their members when they visit and vice versa.
Scott (secretary of GTROC Uk) was hosted by us when he visited in 2005.

UPDATE: Temujin is starting to explore various merchandising options for the club such as stickers, keychains, lanyards and t-shirts. Given the small quantities involved, meeting supplier MOQs and also high costs are key problems. Hopefully there are guys here with relevant contacts who can help him out (possibly Remus with stickers?).

mushi mushi,
sorry for not being around. just got back from jap. met with hks technical factory president . guy in charge of hks zero r r32. discuss on rb26 modds. anyways, i cant aggree more on pimpims suggestion, but now, we still need to see the list of volunteers.. target 10 people.. izzit enough.? if enough, lets set a date to meet

Well the Act defines a Society as having at least 7 members so:

1) President:
2) Vice President:
3) Secretary:
4) Treasurer:
5) Committee Member (Events, Marketing, etc):
6) Committee Member (PR, Media Relations, etc): Jamil Abdul Ghani (Loki)
7) Committee Member (Membership, Recruitement, etc): Azmir Zainuddin (Blood Red)

I think I've suggested something a few pages back but I don't know if anyone has given it any thought. The above seems to be the common structure for automotive clubs/societies that have most recently registered with the ROS. There are differences as some provide for additional posts of Asst. Secretary and Asst. Treasurer as well as Trustees which aren't office bearers. What I suggest is for the President and Treasurer to become Trustees as well since there are no actual assets anyway for now.

Anyways, best to discuss in person I reckon. Regardless, please give some thought to the paperwork.

Great! I'm sure the club will take you up on the offer when the time comes - hopefully in the near foreseeable future. :adore:

My understanding was that the ten or so volunteers would meet to discuss and assign responsibilities among themselves based on specific interests, skills and personalities.

Well basically there needs to be a committee which comes together for a meeting to setup the club; minutes of which are also submitted to ROS. It's a pro tem committee until the first AGM can be held during which you can choose to put your name forward again or simply become a normal member.

Thats going a bit too far ahead as it was suggested earlier in the thread to have a preliminary discussion, rather than a full blown meeting with specific roles already assigned (albeit temporary ones).

Nonetheless...

It's merely an expression of interest so we have some commitment that there are people willing to help setup the club and run the club at least until the first AGM.
