Hello guys, i was wondering if the privacy windows (black tinting) of JDM cars such as Alphard, Wish, Stream, Odyssey will pass? There so many on the road. :hmmmm:

Cant pass, going for inspection on Monday. Nobody wants to sell their clear glass so gotta rent a set. The officer who stopped me even told me to go rent > inspect> change back. Mother truckers!!

hahah mother truckers nice swear word :top:
yeah i heard come workshops provide this service i would just skip the hassle and change to clear glass if its a regular problem

But I like the privacy glass. I find it better and safer. Just imagine you have items or luggage in the car since MPV don't have a boot. With a clear glass people can see what's inside the car and might contribute to more break in. I find that the "No privacy glass" regulation silly.

I don't know about others but I don't like people looking into my car when they walk pass. I think the the regulation should change according to the changes in weather time and security. Now so many snatch thieve on bike, darker tint is not allowed then those MF can see what's inside and broke your window. I'm not saying to let 100% pass but at least side windows should be allow to be darker say 75% tint. While the rear and front windscreen 50% tint. Even at 50% you can still see through the rear windscreen and tell how many ppl is inside.

Just look at our weather here so damn hot and glaring. especially at noon. If without a darker tint the glare is very painful to the eye and the passengers.

I really don't understand our RTD regulation. Is there any facts, statistics or backup info that justify the "No dark tint" rules? I see so many kementerian kesihatan's X-trail 100% tinted. VIPs, and some government vehicle is allowed to do that. Why they can and we can't? is our lives and security not worth as much as them?

When I was in Taiwan, they cars were all allowed to be tinted 85% because during summer their weather is very hot so their RTD allow it.

Thanks guys. Gah this will be annoying. lol. I guess i'm gonna run into problems with road blocks next time in my Odyssey. Haven't thought of this before buying the car. What a rubbish rule, if they are not going to allow people to have such privacy glass, shouldn't they demand importers to change them first before allowing them in?

Doesn't make sense to allow import then fine you for it.

yeah, it is a hassle. theres a risk of improper re - installation which might lead to a leak as well. i'd rather pay a runner the same amount to go thru the inspection without changing windows.

very true..its saved me many a times when i forget to bring down my lap top.

U can have privacy glasses if u have medical excuses

yeah but for this one you need a governement doctor to verify it first to be exact a skin doctor because its only applicable for people with skin conditions who cannot have their skin exposed to high beams of sun light

yeah but like i said earlier if roablocks are a constant problem i dont think you would be willing to pay the same runner again and again as im sure it would be very expensive whenever you need a special runner like this
so i guess the only way is clear glass and i see finding clear glass is also a big problem :banghead:

yes this part is the stupidest thing ever i feel why even allow them to bring in the cars and sell it on top of that if its not even considered road legal because of the dark windows :hmmmm:
