On behalf of Purist from thread http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/general-talk/379389-bad-experience-at-car-repair-shop.html

Hi guys and girls. I just want to share you all my experience. Perhaps you can take some benefits from it. I went to a car repair shop at section 13, shah alam. This shop has a big orange/yellow "Continental" sign. Continental as you all already know is the famous German tyre company. The car repair shop name is CN Auto Air-Cond Accessories. The shop name sounds like an air-cond and accessories shop by they said their shop do car repairs, services and maintenance.

I didn't know this shop before and a guy who tow the car with his jeep who take the car here. The car's problem was it can't move. The shop owner said the problem was the gearbox and needed to be replace. The repair shop owner said the cost is RM1400 and it included labor, used gearbox and everything else. I bought 3 bottles of ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid )and give it to the owner and asked him if he can give me discount because I bought it myself. Then he said the RM1400 was not including fluid. Before he said RM1400 is for the whole thing and the he said something else. You judge yourself. Then he told me to bought another one because the gearbox need 4 bottles. I bought another one. The one who repair the car was an Indian mechanic who worked there.

When I came to take the car, the Indian said that I need to buy another bottle. I asked him why, because the gearbox only needed 4 litre of ATF. He said that the ATF has dripped down. Then I bought another one. The Indian mechanic put the ATF into the gearbox while the engine was on and the fan blow the ATF onto the engine. I told him to pour the ATF into the gearbox while the engine is off. Then, I crouched to see the under the car and saw there was a lot of ATF on the floor. I thought the ATF on the floor is because of the mechanic spilled it. I went to pay and the mechanic that when you go home you'll see a lot of ATF on the floor and it would look like leaks but it is not leaks. It is just the ATF spills on the engine that dropped onto the ground. He told me to come back to wash the engine and there will be no ATF dripping on to the floor. I paid the bills and went back home.

The next day, I found out there was a lot of leaks of ATF on the floor. I thought it was fine because the mechanic told me it was only the spills dripping tho the ground. I didn't go back to the shop because I live far away from Shah Alam. I live at Damansara and it is about 20-30 kilometres from Shah Alam. And then after driving a few weeks it still leaks. Then one day on the way to some business the car speed cannot go above 20 km/h. The car was very slow. I took back the car to my home. By now I know the mechanic was lying. The gearbox was leaking ATF. The car repair shop owner bought for the car a faulty and lousy gearbox that leaks. Perhaps a cheap one. Perhaps the price is far lower than the RM1400.

I felt cheated made a claim at the consumer's tribunal. The tribunal president produced an award that the repair shop must tow the car back to the shop and fix the problem. In the award it is said that the shop must finish repairing the car in 7 days after the car is towed to the shop. The shop breached the ruling and took 11 working days and 16 days including holidays to finish repairing the car. I went there to take the car and when I want to drive back, I found out that the air-conditioning was not working. It is not blowing any air at all. It is not like the air it was blowing is not cold. The air-cond was not blowing air at all. Never happen to me before. I ask the shop owner why it is not working and he look as if try to repair it. And then he said he already want to close his shop and want to take workers home. He didn't want to repair and told me to come back tomorrow. As you know, the place is far away and the repair perhaps just took a few minutes.

I didn't go back because I know the shop owner damaged the air-conditioning on purpose. I went to another shop to repair and this time to an car air-cond repair shop. He checked the car air-conditioning system and he said that someone has replaced the car's blower motor with a damaged one. He said the blower motor must be replaced. I agreed and he replaced with a new blower motor for RM190. The work took a few minutes.

So guys and girls, avoid this car repair shop at section 13, Shah Alam. Tell your family members, friends and acquintance. Don't be a victim of this repair shop. Perhaps some who read this post are already customer of this repair shop. Do not go to this car repair shop. Do not be like me. You will be cheated and sorry. I am a very displeased by the treatment of this shop to its customers. If you still want to go to this repair shop and then got cheated, do not say that you have not been warned. Find other honest repair shops. It is hard to find nowadays but if you try you'll find one. Just don't go to this one. This repair shop has an headquarters at section 15 Shah Alam, at Jalan Tukul N 15/N. It has a big orange/yellow "Continental" sign. Also branches at section at section 9 Shah Alam and also at Cheras. The headquarters repair shop name is CN Auto Tyre Sdn Bhd. Some branches use the white 'Bridgestone' sign. The shop carries name CN at the front of it. Avoid these repair shops. I'm telling you this so you will not be like me. Save yourself. Do not tempt fate and do not risk your hard earned money. Do not be cheated. Avoid cheating car repair shops. Anyone who have been cheated before, please share your experience and mention the repair shop name so we can avoid it. Thank you for reading.

i too experienced some bad service from 2 shops. the first one was in 2008. i sent my kancil for tint in this shop called Jun Auto Accessory in Rahang, Seremban. Its the same row as the Bidara Restaurant and Brothers. I went there alone to tint my car. They did it and when i looked around i found bubbles at the edges of the front windscreen. I told them about it and they said that it was because it still not dry completely. Ok fine. A week later i went back as it was still like that. The boss said a bit only, not noticable. So how on earth was it noticable to me? I tot nvm, maybe i'm just a fussy customer. Few days later, it became worse. The bubbles were getting bigger. So, i went back to the shop. Met the boss and he agreed to retint the front windscreen for me with a f***ing sour face. His face already look like dog's shit, so u can imagine how he looked like then. He said the colour i used no stock. He wanted to use a different colour. I said no way. Can u imagine the rear and door windscreens one colour and the front windscreen was another colour? When i told him that, the boss raised his voice at me in front of all other customers and said that "U banyak susah la. Sikit2 mahu complain". Not exactly what he said but smtg like this la.I got really mad. I said that's not my problem as his staff were the ones who made the mistake right from the beginning. When i began to yell at him, he agreed to refund with another fu**ed up face. I dont care what he face he showed, all i wanted was my rights as a customer. He refunded and just as i was waiting for his staff to peel off the tint, i saw a guy was waiting to install a complete audio system for his car. I purposely from one end of the shop told him not to do it here. U saw how he shouted at me just now. Next time, if the same happens to u, he's gonna shout at u also. when i said that, that guy gave some excuses and went away. haha. i felt really good that time. eversince, never been there, never recommend anyone there. and now i'm telling all of u in seremban, dont go to that shop. his staff is not skillful enough. this i can tolerate. but when the boss shouts at me, i cant tolerate this. So remember, JUN AUTO ACCESSORIES.

Another incident happened very recently bout 2 months ago. This time in Permas, JB. U know the shop 2020 near Jusco Permas? Yeah, the shop used to be Brothers. Ok, this is what happened. Went to install a component speaker for my kancil. I just took a cheap Pioneer comp speaker. The salesman was very quick in giving warranties and all that. Less than a month, something went wrong with the coil or smtg. so the sound wasnt right. I went back and told him about it. He said he'll get his boys to check for me. Not many cars there at that time and those of u who know that shop, u know they have many workers there. They were walking up n down but not attending to my car while i was sitting there like a fool with my wife looking at them. After an hour of waiting, i didnt want to wait any longer. I saw another salesman passing me, i called him and told him my problem angrily. then the salesman who sold the speakers to me told me that i have to wait. I said no. When u wanna sell something u give all that bullshit and now when i tell u to check if its faulty u make me wait so long when there aren't much customers here? When i shouted like this, he immediately told his boy who was sitting doing nothing all the time to check for me. I'm sick of services like this. One advice for u ppl is that make sure u r harsh when u know u r right and u have to fight for it. I made a mistake waiting that long before shouting at them. in 15 mins they replaced the speaker for me. on my receipt, they wrote the warranty period when i 1st bought them. then, after that they returned the receipt to me where they scribbled off the warranty word and period. when i asked them why, they said this product got no warranty actually. I thought to myself F*** off la. Not stepping to ur shop anymore. So are my experiences. Remember this shop too if u r in JB, 2020 Accessories.

thank for sharing ur bad experience about workshop...and feelin sorry hear u got bad service customer ..anyway,we r customer always right, just make sure ur voice load or higher than them.never never easy letting they go,on heir any excuses tak apa, sikit saja ok punya.NO to them,i wan new replace part...or sue their company

jimmy, what u said is true also. i never gave face to them when i receive shit like services. i dont mind being charged a lil extra but the service they deliver must be on par.

Today I went to CV audio accessories at damansara uptown to buy 2 pcs 15A fuse. Blardy boss (tall man) wanted to charge me RM2 per piece when I could get it for only RM1 at other shops.

RM2 more is fine, but that's cut throat selling and dishonest with just a tiny purchase. How much more for big purchases..

Er... tall man? There aren't any tall fellas in CV Audio Uptown. Are you sure you got the right 'boss'? Anyway, you should talk to Peter over there. What fuse did you want to purchase? Perhaps I could iron things out with you and CV since I'm a regular there. He's never had any negative feedback before.

maybe the tall guy is trying to make an extra buck....
rm1 give to the boss, rm1 keep for himself.

Hey.. yeah. Quite tall la.. taller than his workers.. He was sitting in the enclosed room.

Maybe he is not the boss there.. as I heard Peter is the boss name. But I never met him before.

I was looking for the 15A fuse (blue colour). but I already have them. Bought at RM1 each from them after he saw I was in disbelief at the price he originally quoted..

Dude, describe him a bit more to me, I have to report this to Peter if one of his workers is misreporting prices to customers. Peter isn't tall, he's quite plump too.

Sure mate, I understand our responsibility to report unreasonable actions. I shall thank you.

It was yesterday 'Deepavali', time was at around 3.45-4.00pm. I recall seeing 3 workers. One was fixing something at customer's car (quite plump, but unlikely to be boss). Another was at the back, he helped retrieve the item from where it was kept (shortest one, no offense though, dark skin). And lastly the one sitting in the enclosed room, quite tall, not plump and blue polo shirt.

He was quite sarcastic also when I asked if they have that item. Saying in canto, 'wah what did u use it for it turn so bad..?'. Obviously to me that's the point of having a fuse lol.

Alright thanks mate. I'll let Peter know and let him f*ck his workers for screwing customers like you. Reputation is everything in this industry and it only takes one prick to spoil everything. Hope you don't take this incident to heart, let me know the next time you go CV Audio Dmnsara, I'll intro you to Peter and he'll look after you.

I think I know which guy you're talking about. I don't work for CV but I go there very often and Peter is a friend to me so I'm just looking after the bad rep here.
