Catalyst Converter..i'm new buddy here, need advise from all sifu here.

This is why the trend now is moving towards hybrid and even full electric design. For the next 10 yrs, combustion engine will soon become a history.

The one at the manifold is O2 sensor, at the cat-con is Exhaust Temp Sensor.
This is the layout for Levin Ae101 and Ae111. I'm not sure for local SEG's layout.

Choking = not enough fuel.
Check your fueling system ie: fuel filter, fuel pump and FPR

thanks sifu levin818, i'll check the fueling system. myb 1 part i dont change bcos its look alike. then i let it be there. dunno fuel filter or fuel pump, its got petrol smell. its come from tangki minyak thru that part, connect to the intake trotel, hv to use 17 size spanar to open the skru at the top of the part.
 
Fuel pump is inside the fuel tank at the back. You are talking about fuel filter.

FYI, fuel pump and fuel filter for blacktop and 4afe is the same. Maybe your fuel filter is clogged

then, if use back oem BT fueling system oso same, then should i change to walbro?
i'll check the fueling system 1st. suspect something wrong. 1st is the choking2, 2nd, FC oso lil bit high RON95 RM20 can go 100-110KM only. every day drive along KESAS hgwy.

FC looks normal for BT .
anyway, i've checked my local ae101 .
no cat con .
so i guess remove no problem .
it just bad for the environment
 
my car is corolla ae111, 1.6 A, but last owner change liow to manual gbx still with 4afe engine.
now i've transplan to BT 5speed. really no expirience with BT. when 1st time drive it, feel choking2 when to start acceleration, that time, feel 4afe better. but after RPM3500 above, hehe baru can 'Get The Feeling' now i still want to find out how to solve the choking2, or BT engine is like that de.

i mean tune back the engine is, i never usik the other part. i juz plug n play the halfcut into my corolla.
is it have to go tuning the 4 throtel or anythings else? but idle timing is ok. easy to say, not yet go to any foreman or workshop. juz DIY me n my buddys here. want to save cost la hehe:listen:

Haha, blacktop engine is like that, it will feel sluggish a little at low rpm, but after 3.5k rpm the power comes. I felt the same way you did when I first drive my BT AE101 after the transplant. Then I came and ask here, and everybody say the engine is like that. more oomph on higher rpm. So shiok hearing the engine sound :) Just that... petrol is like water only hahaha. high fc when rev up a lot. but there are ways to improve the low end torque, but that should be explained by more experienced people.. i m just a noob lady driver who doesn't know much on technical stuffs.
 
Somehow I feel FC is same even when I shift at 3k rpm or 6k rpm. If drag all the way to 8k then different
 
BT got VVT what .
that's 1 of the technology that is for fuel consumption system also other than power right .
i also shift arnd 4k .
occasional full rev on 4a-fe .
dont really see much different in terms of FC compared to full 2-2.5k rev .
probably arnd 10-20km different on full tank that's all .
 
erm...last time using stock 4afe piping for my BT from extractor to end the FC is ok. almost same like 4afe engine. but i'm worry about the size of piping, around 1.8" compare to stock BT is 2.38". my buddys say if using small piping on high performance engine like BT, it will harm the engine. thats why i do new piping, feel like lil bit rugi. bcos the FC not so good from before. plan to find stock BT piping n use back with the cat con. want to feel the very2 stock of BT power.:biggrin:
 
It wont harm the engine, it will just harm the piping. Normally when you use too small piping the piping will patah somewhere
 
its normal to have knocking when u transplant BT bcoz japan use ron100 and we use ron95...mostly is gas problem...so u need to setup it...method i dunno...maybe other problem will cause knocking too...so ask mech better...my BT is in progress...dunno will knocking anot after done...hehe...cant wait

em...no wonder la my engine start knocking day by day...
argh...mayb i should research 1st then transplan.
but now transplan already how leh? redah je lah....:driver:
 
my BT juz finish transplan last puasa month only, about 4 month already.
juz plug n play proses oni, now save the budget to refine any problem of it.
hope dun come such heavy2 problem lor... then will sakit kepala n pocket woo..hehe
 
for knocking try adjust your distributor can already i think .
advance it.

not sure if it affects the fuel consumption or not .
probably running a bit richer ?

will try after find out stock BT exhaust.
i think my exhaust systm not running good, only the piping is stock for BT (2.38")
the center bullet is Wai Heng's. then the muffler oso 2nd hand dunno what brand. i think its costum.
 
:smokin:catalyst converter use to trap the burn fuel gas outs to our nature greenly earth...with or without its are doesnt matter...will not lost your performance too much...:driver:

Performance will be better, but your planet will be worse. People who decat mainly fall into on of these 2 categories:

1. Do not care and love their loved ones
2. Do not have any loved ones left

The bad effects are not instant and one person doesn't really make a difference. but if everybody thinks that one person decat does not make a difference, everyone will decat and our country will be fkd.

Of course those are the ultimate choices. But not everyone can afford hybrids and hybrids can't provide the thrill of some cars such as those good old high revving jap cars. But while they are not hybrid, they have a device (the cat con) to reduce bad impacts. Its meant for that purpose so leave it there. Besides, there are many other ways to free off some power.

One can use a high flow cat instead of complete removing it.

is it need to install it or its ok without it. bcoz that thing got soket with 2 wire.
can i know what is the function of catalyst converter. and what result if with or without it.
my car got choke feeling when want to keluar simpang, if i full press the pedal. is it happen bcos i didnt install that thing.

Bro, that doesn;t sound like a cat con removal prob. Is your O2 sensor still there? Choking may come form problems in airflow, ignition, or fueling. The O2 sensor controls the air-fuel ratio and is located close before your cat con. Maybe when they remove your cat con, they didn't fix the O2 sensor back?
 
if got cat converter,i will use too...but the problem is cat converter doesnt come with halfcut...its costly too for me to buy 1 bcoz i gt limited budget :)
