Engine oil leaking

Hey guys,

There is oil leaking around the head. A lot! Brought to two workshops and both say just need to change valve gasket seal/rubber. One of d workshop told me that oil also leak onto the timing belt so that got to change too.

My question is, I noticed that the head was leaking after a late night high rpm run so how is it possible that the valve gasket seal only needs to be replaced? I feel like the problem requires a top overhaul and replacing the valve gasket seal.

Is this merely a simple straight forward issue or am i just worrying too much?

p/s can someone here intro to me a reliable, trustworthy n experienced workshop/mech? Ive had bad experiences n one of them led to my engine bay catching fire =(

What car are u driving??
my experience on diy campro valve gaket ..the area on the camshaft need to put silicon gasket even though it is new,if not confirm leak at timing belt area..

what is silicon gasket? d rubber seal thing isit? well i bought mine already. not sure where to go fix it tho. coz i was thinking since gotta change the valve gasket rubber seal due to leakage, isnt it safer if i were to do top overhaul and change d timing belt all at one go just to be safe? Workshop no #1 say change timing belt n valve gasket seal only while workshop number 2 say only need to change valve gasket seal. I cant even remember when i did timing belt change since long time nvr drove d car.

But im still wondering:
1. high revs with a bocor valve gasket seal can cause oil leak (its alot)??
2. if not, what is d underlying problem that needs to b fixed (i dont hv d time to visit workshop so often)?
3. is it possible for head gasket bocor to cause such a leakage? (but car temperature seems normal)

Sorry bro, i thought u fix the valve gasket and still leak....
When u change timing belt u need to consider also
1.Waterpump,
2.Campulley oil seal (possibilities cause the leak also)
3.Crankshaft oil seal,
4. timing belt tensioner bearing..

No comment on top overhaul thing..

This is silicon gasket(i not sure other called it what)..u don't need to buy it since u fix at workshop..

The part with blue box which leak a lot of oil AFTER installation and need silicon gasket..before that only little oil come out which make the engine dirty..

Btw could u explain more about y need to check 1,2,3 and 4 when changing timing belt? I've nvr heard of this tho (sry noob). But ur number 1 seems somewhat interesting coz previously i had overheating problems but a mech told me tht d water pump is working. Fyi, ive had 2 top overhauls done in 3 years =( lol

Regarding the blue box part, y do u need d silicon gasket? Or is this more of a campro design issue? Coz i would assume a good condition valve gasket seal should b sufficient to prevent oil leak.

my persona also have issue with engine oil leaking after changing timing belt...already change gasket but still leaking...is it possible i have leaking problem as you state above?...first i suspect it came from the oil seals but haven't check that yet...very frustrated...

1.Waterpump
-Recommended to change same interval with timing belt eventhough it is still fine and let say it spoil after u change timing belt, u need to pay labour twice...It is located nearby timing belt for satria, wira and etc..Ur car waterpump might be at the same place also..

2.Campulley oil seal
-Since already take out the timing belt, it is easier to change the campulley oil seal...
One oil seal for single cam and two for twin cam..Some shop give it to u free and some shop sell it separate when u buy with timing belt set..i get it for free same with cranshaft oil seal

3.Crankshaft oil seal
-Since already open crankpulley, safety first and jus change it..

4.Timing belt tensioner bearing
-This thing come with a set with timing belt..

Regarding the blue box part, i was thinking the same with u which a good condition valve gasket seal should be sufficient to prevent oil leak but after change it , it only leak at timing belt area...
Originally i saw the silicon gasket was at the campulley side cover but i neglect it since it is brand new valve gasket but then i have to do the job twice...
Might need to get Torque Wrench to tighten all the bolt perhaps..I tighten all the bolt by hands and in X method starting from center..

When i took off the valve cover i notice originally at the valve cover got silicon gasket and to be precise u should put the silicon gasket at the blue box part at the head only before installation..I not sure bout ur car must put or not or only me...

When installing timing belt, i think ur foreman wont open ur valve cover..
Before timing belt change, u didnt kacau the valve cover right??
So the problem might be at ur oil seal..Improper installation perhaps..

When installing timing belt, i think ur foreman wont open ur valve cover..
Before timing belt change, u didnt kacau the valve cover right??
So the problem might be at ur oil seal..Improper installation perhaps..

main suspect is oil seals....bought it together with timing belt...compare the size before installation...perfect fit...or there is any other reason why its still have leaking from oil seals?..:hmmmm:

my friend do it..he is a foreman...doesn't know how he take it off...if scratch, can it be fix?..maybe my friend not installed it properly like you said...maybe need to seal deeper...haiya...need to open back...cost + time..:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Just replaced my cylinder head oil seal. I use the old or defective oil seal to push the new oil seal to the cylinder head properly inside the cylinder head using wood and hammer. New oil seal will not be damage and inserted properly.
