open pod need more tender bloody care more often then drop in.dirty n u lose power.
i kinda regret using open pod.it only makes engine bay looks more cool.

I am not fond of the turbo intake spool on TD05, quite loud. I love v-tec / NEOVVL but not turbo spool. Not sure why just my personal. I need to change back to stock from POD because too much hot air i think and want quieter. LOL

I just wanted to test and if it's bad, I'll revert back. I love the spooling noise. Yes this is pretty personal.

The intake sound of an open pod was damn orgasmic .

Tried before on my SLK 350 & a broke ass standard Waja 1.6 with Mitsubishi 4G18 , the sound when full throttle was damn awesome , but in performance wise it is better off with standard airbox & drop in filter , AND the mass air flow sensor failed on the SLK weeks after the pod filter install costing me 900+ for one unit but luckily it just failed on one bank so not both ,according to the SLKworld forums,it is caused by oiled filter,Mass Air Flow sensor are sensitive to the oil ...

And also the low end & fuel economy suffers ... tried on my W204 C-Coupe with 1.8 Turbo , just with K&N drop in and the top lid off the turbo spool sound was damn loud ~

If wanna install Open pod i guess it needs a Cold Air Intake to supports the mod ~

maybe u should get a custom heat sheild for open pod.. just customize it using zinc sheet or alluminum plate..

I've done that before previously in my AE111 and it works pretty well :)
